this is yet another misconception. Just because you draw good manga does not mean you will be a good GD. to be honest manga style is a cancer now. too many kids drawing manga and not learning the right way to draw things. you need to know the basics before you want to throw away the book.

as the above poster mentioned, you can't use manga style on every single thing. can you do an ad campaign for Petronas, Microsoft or Telekom using mnag style ? i dont think so. i think students should learn multiple style so their design style will be diverse. Don't limit yourself to just manga.

personally i think art classes in sekolah have been neglected. when i was in school the teacher does not even teach us the basoc or art. we went to class and bring our art supplies and then waste 2 hours just doing out stuff. when SPM came we did our own ulang kaji ( i have that huge PRESTON buku rujukan back in 1996 - yeah.long time ago). i am a straight A pure science student and i still took Pendidikan Seni in SPM because i love art. most of the teachers were baffled by my choice to take this subject. yes.. even back then people labelled art student as hopeless and bodoh! FOR SHAME

untill teachers see art as on par with math or science, art students will never gain the respect like engineering/medicine students. frankly speaking i'm sick of being treated like a retard just because i am an art student.

justice to arts.. give pendidikan seni the same respect as the one you gave to physics!! damn it!
