Had my very 1st couple portraiture photography last weekend at Youth Park, Penang with Hong Foo (2nd Runner-up of Super Model Search 2008, Penang) and his girlfriend, Andrea. A very lovely couple I would say... haha...

We had a lot of funs while the shooting was in the progress. Also, I have tried most of the shots with my new lens, 85mm f/1.8...

Feel free to comment, mostly without PP... just using the natural light...

do you mean his expression? Actually overall, he looks great and cool, but he loves to smile... well, I would say if his face can be serious a bit, maybe he will looks better...

Got style or not is very general la... So far if I see some people with characters, it really make the pictures come out and got feel... While for normal people... might be plain and boring...

It is why some are meant to be Stars....

hmm... deep... but will try to figure out your point..

guys = stiff, gals= feels like not enjoying the moment.

but photographing skill is good

i think is nice...

#5 is meant to focus on the guy only?

Oohh... nice "whispering sweet nothings into the ear" shot.

Yeah.. I agree with TheVOIP, the shot of the guy with the shades is nice, but the feeling not there lah. When taking these sort of photos, I personally feel that there is a need for the model to potray/play the part. The eyes makes a lot of difference when doing these sort of shots. Remember Ben Stiller in the movie (aiyah.. cannot remember the name lah, it's about the male model and also got references to KL as well) with his "patented" Look.


Additionally, I dislike the shades, the side rim got silver colour. Better if all black. (personal preference) Then really can look like "Hong Heng"

Is it my Screen or is it that it looks a bit not bright enough ah?

What f number you use for those shots BTW? Curious

some shots are underexposed, overall are ok..and my personal opinion, i dun like WB to have too much green tint, that's me only

2. actually I took 2 shots, one I focus only on the guy, and the other one on the girl... was trying some kinda feel, but I didn't really got it actually...

3. erm, seriously, that was my mistaken... I am not sure whether she is looking at him or not, but in fact, I have taken few shots on this pose, but few of it, out of focus badly... and this is the only one which is still acceptable.

#1 her sexy leg seems more attractive than their hands
#6 loving this.. got the 'feel'
#8 the model abit stiff. her leg open too much.
#12 will it be better if it is straight?

your pics must be really huge

i left my screen idle for more than 5 minutes and still haven't finish loading

#1 and #4 are great! Natural feel, I believe that's the most important element in a picture.

it seems the WB keep changing
and some pictures underexposed

6 & 7 is my pick of this series. The rest didn't work for me on the compo part, could be better.

#2 is a good idea except it took me a while to look at the shadow

And the yellowish WB didn't really look for me.

#8 has potential though, probably a different angle.

Composition improved!

But too much photoshop la... Improve the basic skill first la...

Color too strong, too dark... not natural, and the worst part is the guy not good looking... some more wearing ear ring

ya, somehow it's kinda hard to capture the best moment. but learn from mistake lo.

the WB not conistent..maybe rearrange the photos? i know you are trying to get the effect but the series has to relate with one another mar rearranging them should help lor...

I can't agree more, the girl is not good looking either.
but the important thing is the connection they have which the photos can bring out.
With the great skills of the photographers, this vital element compliments and great photographs are made.

One of the pic i actually just saw it in tv la..

i browse all of ur pic,

most of the composition is not really that good, which is the background is too busy, for eg.

u should have turned little bit and change the background.

and this, should be walking toward the ocean, not to the condominium.




lastly, IMO, this hugging style is that suitable in this angle..
maybe u can ask them try other hugging style, which is like this.

ask the girl rest her face on the guy's shoulder..

well, it is just my 2cents..

people, we ain't models and we're aware that we're not good looking either.
Anyway, it's alright to criticize, but be constructive.
Most of it are really good and some even post better examples!
We really appreciate them.

As for the hugging part, I would really love the mat salleh and the asian girl, but too bad our height difference are not that vast.
Otherwise, that would definitely be better!

or d guy can stand on a rock/ladder/stool if u want him to be higher?
