full set upgrade, HU + amp + component speakers for front and a sub. can get pioneer or kenwood HU for around 500, soundstream speakers for around 400+, a sub for 300-400, an amp 4 channel one dat cost 600-700. think should be ok d.

Kembara entry-ICE setup should be between $1K to $1.2K, should be enough.

can't say it's a waste, there's no rule saying u have to be driving a luxurious sedan if u wanna install ICE worth 2k. Even a lot of modified kancil on the road with ICE more than 2k... wat say u?? It's juz the love for the sound.

for 2K? for me, i go for a good player (rear, front and subcontrol, dont waste money buying the pre-amp), a 4 channel amp, and a soundstream/epsilon component. powering a component using a 4 channel amp, going to give a very clear sound! that should be nice. and later on you can add on a monoblock amp+12inch woofer.

sub control means can control volume of bass seperately from master volume control.
Good HU r usually these few brands, Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer, and Panasonic. Lots of selection depending on ur budget from these brands. Got some fantastic HU with bombastic price tags too like nakamichi, denon, alpine F1 status and sound status.
