usually we cast bread without using sinkers. that is the most effective way to catch pacu and patin by allowing the bread to free float on the water.

very hard to explain how to cast bread without sinkers to you as i dont know what your setup is like. Would definitely join you for Laguna session if i wasnt already going up to Genting

anyway just bring your complete set-up to RHA. talk to Sam and tell him the kind of fishing you plan to do and ask him for some pointers.

cass, don waste money. use watever u have now until it kaput. then get a better set.

i recommend you get a Ugly Stick rod next. cost about rm100++. this rod will last you until you die. I have one which i am still using, already 7 years liao.

For reel, get a Ryobi Applause/Excia, about rm130-150 in Kepong tackle. Full metal body, wat fish also can tackle. Get size 2000 - 4000.

Cass, Ugly Stick rods advertise a hot b*tch in bikini bending a rod with her hand where rod but meets rod tip heheheh. what they are trying to say is that their rod is unbreakable under fishing pressure. true to some extent, but dont lift a tyre with it la

Shimano is an extremely good brand, but the price can buy a seconhand motorbike liao. the shimano that you saw which you say pricing is ok is not made in Japan, most probably from the factory in Johor. Quality wise with the local Shimanos, i think Tica is better

what the bros here recommend which is Ryobi is made in japan and can match those Shimanos from Japan, with only a fraction of the cost.

When you want to ask about Shimano, you must refer to the model. You must ask for Ultegra, Scorpion, Calcutta < this is the good ones, you can check their prices at the tackleshop and you will know wat i mean
