Who knows maybe the senate now is counting the money that is freed from the reducing subsidy....=.=

Well, I should ask myself also if the ministers are also changing their lifestyles...

They are, they are cutting 10% rebate from their entertainment budget which allows them to save 2 billion.

They have 20 billion on entertainment budget.

can you believe that!

I wonder... who should pak lah really say to?

The people who are innocent and only want them to represent us, or the ministers who represent us and still rob us in the daylight?

Who knows eh?

WOW! Kopitiam so serious today... tongue.gif

anyway...

@Phoenix: I tot of NGV too... however, our infrastructure r not designed for that. Like what zio said... not enuf NGV ready station (only Petronas), and the taxi drivers will be cursing you, as they already having problem refueling... and yes, you have an option to turn NGV/Petrol OMn/Off... but what's the point? Might as well dun install? and it doesn't justify the cost, let's say your car is more than 5 years old.

Pls don't go abdullah on us lar.

First of all, the rally is wrong (if you are going to inconvenient everyone else)  but that if you are asking us to change our "lifestyle" to adapt to the price hike, that kind of things said can have you lynched. Coz you are implying that it is us, the consumers fault that the fuel price went up

That was said in the senate meeting ( i think?) but it was said the same thing. Change your lifestlye

It ranks somewhere at the stupid comment of

Women wearing sexy clothes make ppl rape them
School Uniform nowadays are too sexy
By cutting 10% from minister entertainment budget, we save 2 billion ( thats only 10%)
We should send another angkasawan
*
It is our dependence on fuel that has pushed fuel price up. Well, it is not directly within our control but the truth is, we created this situation ourselves la. Generally, as a human, we kinda asked for it. Because fuel was such an easy option, that people just went for it. And now we are suffering from our dependence on it.

Lol I dont agree with the manner the rise was implemented but I do agree that the subsidy has to go. And I hate rallies. Whatever kind it may be because it just serves as an inconvenience to everyone else. Thats the reason why I am frowning at the Opposition too, all they know is protest, protest, protest.

QUOTE(PhoenixByte @ Jun 13 2008, 12:14 PM)
IMHO ppl will not be that angry if our gov think things thoroughly b4 coming up with something..I mean, what the next step after this.

For example, only after the price increase is announced, we have...this and that that needed to be done (and it's still in consideration and discussion).

The right thing would be to already have the contingency thought out and only then they announce whatever they want and put the ball in motion soon after.

it's like....
"oh no, some ppl got shot on the battlefield..."
"errr where's the medic?"
"we are still considering whether to have medics or not, we didn't think ppl will get hurt during battles.."

from what i surveyed these ngv system also have optional petrol / ngv system. Meaning, we want to use petrol we fill petrol, we want ngv we fill in ngv. It's not 100% ngv all the time.
*
As penman have said, if we switch off (most of the time) because we cant refuel the NGV, then its pointless. And it will be most of the time because you won't want to sit in the line. I have seen the taxis queueing for it and I just cant help but feel sorry for them.

They have a LOT of people that are eligible for the entertainment fund. And who knows how much a meal costs when say, George Bush comes to town? You probably rent a whole ballroom because of the extra people that will be attending the dinner.

Well you know la the mindset of people these days. They will be like " Hey i pay you to work out the project for me, I dun care if you mother is sick or your wife is going to give birth. Just finish the project or dun expect me to pay a single cent or be prepared to be nagged to death."

Well...something like tat biggrin.gif
