Basically where the car is assemble plays a small part of overall!
First u will need to look at the company background of the manufacturer, Toyota famous world wide with their production plans and operations (i believe some of u who study in Business or production will have to see through Toyata Case Study)! Toyota apply really strict QC on every vehicle they manufacturer, they provide A class service to the ppl tat brings the cars for service.
Perodua........local brand............their car are always better than their brother Proton! Although they stated their car r assemble in JP but in JP does not means they are good! Those Mitsubishi car manufacture in JP run into a lot of QC problem and has ruined their name in the car manufacturing. So do u think tat it is based on what country means tat it is better! NO! If the company does not set a good QC standard (like Proton) no matter wat country they manufacture in they will still sux!

Another case about the 2 brands which i think most of the ppl out there agree, when u drive ur car to a local branded services center, it always give u the impression tat the technician in that workshop look like the Customer more than u, u seem to have to serve them more than they serve u! WTF i paid money to look at ur face ah! Toyota services center is 100% opposite the case tat i just told u! The reason i give such a speak are all based on my experience and i have owned those car before but no service center satisfy as much as the Toyota one! I giv it a thumbs up !
