Wait... did I just see Captain America use a gun?!? 

I feel a bit sad and touched at the ending when the heroine open the file and looked at Steve Roger's pic. At this scene, its implying that how great Captain America is, only she knew better than other that Captain is just a normal skinny soldier from Brooklyn who sacrifice for his country.

And what a nostalgic control panel switches features in the movie. Today everything is touch screens but old days they use switches to activate something haha.

i think the expectation needs to be set.
i myself is not a big fan of capt america. cos imagine a bit of super strength and all and the god damn shield only. LOL. so pathetic as a hero.
i felt the action was just enough to show his strength and all. i felt this was a good movie just setting up the avengers nicely.

Captain America 2 Will Be Set "Primarily" In Modern Day

With Captain America: The First Avenger hitting DVD and Blu-ray this Tuesday, writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have been making the press rounds. In a conversation today with The HD Room, the pair reiterated that the sequel will stick mostly to the filmic Marvel Universe's present day.

"I think it's safe for us to say that it's primarily set in the modern day," says Markus. "That seems to have been the biggest question people have been wondering about regarding the sequel... [W]e've been left with room to explore Cap entering the modern day wondering, 'What is all this? What's happened to the world' and so on."

"We made a movie where the world was in context for Steve Rogers," adds McFeely. "It was a movie where it was a more pure time, where there were clearly black-and-white, right-and-wrong, good-and-evil scenarios. And Cap is a guy who symbolizes that. Now he's in the now, and there is nothing black-and-white. So what do you do with that guy? How does he react to a much more uncertain time? So you're given this huge new palate to work with, but you can keep him the same."

Chris Evans' Captain America next appears in Marvel's The Avengers on May 4, 2012. Unfortunately, it may be a bit before his next solo adventure. Evans recently revealed that Captain America 2 will probably have to wait until 2014.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Announced



As we hoped, Marvel confirmed at Comic Con that the Captain America sequel will be titled “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”, an awesome, fanboy pleasing film title which confirms the direction of what we had expected the follow-up to go down in.

The Winter Soldier is of course a storyline Marvel fans will be very familiar with and without spoiling anything (the trailer and plot synopsis will tell you more than I’m going to reveal below) the film will see the return of Bucky Barnes (played by Sebastien Stan), Cap’s best friend and fellow WWII soldier who was thought to have been killed when he fell from that train in last year’s Captain America: The First Avenger.

The comics storyline followed a Russian patrol submarine finding Bucky’s cold-preserved body in the snow, minus an arm and when they revived him in Moscow, it is diagnosed that he is suffering from amnesia. They give him a bionic arm and they program him to become a Soviet Assassin for Department X (under the codename Winter Soldier), becoming a ruthless killer in the name of the Russian state. He is kept on cryogenic stasis when not on missions, so has only aged a few years in over half a century.

All of this will undoubtedly be in the sequel for how Bucky enters the contemporary world and can square off against Captain America (Chris Evans) again in the future.



We imagine Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and S.H.I.E.L.D. will have been tracking the Winter Soldier for years (i.e. – his missions post-World War II for Russia) but doesn’t know it’s Bucky Barnes. In the comics he also had a relationship with Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) which we guess could be played up and make for some interesting intrigue. Perhaps this is why Scarlett Johansson is not in the currently filming Iron Man 3, instead crossing over into Captain America 2 instead.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (NOTE – no numerical titles there… makes you wish the Iron Man sequels got cool sub-headings) will hit theatres April 4th, 2012 and we can expect to hear some more concrete details by the end of the year. It will be directed by Anthony & Joe Russo, two comedy directors responsible for You, Me and Dupree and Welcome to Colinwood …. which has us a little terrified quite honestly and we mourn the fact Joe Johnston isn’t returning… but they couldn’t have picked a better and more logical follow-up after the first film.

Robert Downey Jr. Joins Captain America 3!

Breaking: Marking a major twist to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's "Phase Three," Variety is reporting that Robert Downey Jr. is close to joining the cast of Captain America 3 as Tony Stark and that the film will launch elements of the hit comic book crossover event, "Civil War" in the MCU!

The news comes on the heels of an announcement from Marvel this morning that a new "Civil War" comic book is on the way next summer.

Just last week, Downey hinted that something big was on the way, although it was briefly believed that he was referring to a fourth Iron Man film. Now, it seems quite likely that Marvel Studios has even bigger plans for Iron Man!

Anthony and Joe Russo, the sibling director pair behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier, are directing the May 6, 2016 film, which features a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and, of course, the return of Chris Evans as the star-spangled superhero.

Marvel's Captain America: Civil War Seeking New Extras from South East Asia

A new casting call for Marvel's Captain America: Civil War is seeking "Southeast Asian" men and women, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.



Filming for Captain America: Civil War will begin fairly soon and will take place at the new Pinewood Atlanta Studios. That's where Marvel's Ant-Man was shot and will more than likely be the future home for James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy sequel.

Captain America: Civil War will arrive in theaters May 6, 2016.
