QUOTE(lwb @ Jun 16 2008, 08:21 PM) so, everybody.. this is what i'm trying to illustrate.. for those who trust their fund managers blindly are as dumdig as yourself.. fund managers know what they're doing.. konon! Which fund you think has good fundamentals with the support of a good fund manager than lwb? Would be good if you could share with us and do tell us why. Maybe you can help me place my investment in better hands I know nothing bout fund managers (except their names from the prospectus) I only look at the risk as well as the type of investment that the said fund would be investing it. Other than those I leave it mostly on reliability and credibility of the company.

QUOTE(lwb @ Jun 17 2008, 10:10 PM) now you see why i said what've said when certain forumer here claimed that the guarantee is always 100% that was when i realized a financially immature guy is talking. Hmm...I knew about this but didn't think so far down the chain. Anyway, I am not a fan of capital guaranteed funds. The fact that it invests so little in equities does not suit my risk appetite

QUOTE(lwb @ Jun 17 2008, 11:45 PM) Added on June 18, 2008, 12:08 ami respect your risk appetite.. what you choose is ultimately of your own accountability.. i just advocate awareness and education on how learning/paying a bit attention on how your sweat-money is actually working for you. an "unguarded employee" is as good as no employee.. if you know what this simile/saying means. after all, i always treat my money as employee.. and it's my fiduciary duty to know/manage them. Yep, thanks for bringing the possible risk to my attention

QUOTE(cyclone9 @ Aug 19 2008, 09:35 PM) ASM/ASW izit for those bumi? Those are open for public but it is usually fully subcribed. The ones for bumi include ASB (which I read is very good for obvious reasons) and others that I don't bother to check out their names since I can't invest This post has been edited by jeff_ckf: Aug 19 2008, 09:47 PM

QUOTE(LightEnchanter @ Aug 11 2010, 10:40 AM) hi all, i'm new to fund investment, is kwsp approved fund worth the investment? i mean since the performance is evaluated by kwsp, i guess it is safe to invest? They are not evaluated by KWSP. They are only approved funds which you can use your KWSP's money to invest.

QUOTE(LightEnchanter @ Aug 11 2010, 06:41 PM) sorry, wrong use of the term 'evaluate' , what im trying to say is funds are approved based on their past good performance, but seems like that doesn't assure that they will perform the same in the future. thanks for the replies. No I don't think they are approved based on their performance. I think most of the approved funds seem to be primarily if not 100% invest in Malaysia and not abroad. Please correct me if I'm wrong though.

QUOTE(madstone @ Nov 8 2010, 07:34 AM) No i understand how this Fixed Deposit works. Thanks for the heads up. Really appreciate that. Hi bro maddie, plan to do some investments now huh after hauling ya? Anyway, just to let you know, not all FD rates are exactly the same, some are slightly higher. The ones that I know offer higher rates are Bank Rakyat (not sure how much u need to call them) but I know this coz a relative puts money there.

QUOTE(madstone @ Nov 24 2010, 11:41 AM) Bro, what happenwhen i want to stop the FD before the plan expired? Let say, i join 3 months FD, but in the middle want to use the money for emergency case for example, does the bank charge me any fee? No fees charged but you will lose most if not all of your interest.
