Why is that old ppl are prone to body aches.. i think they are more likely due to these two: 1.poor circulation 2.joints pain

which is why massaging is good for body aches, but I doubt it helps condition number 2.

I own Ogawa Smartaire. Bought it almost 2.5 years ago. So far so good, does not give me any problem.
BTW, does anybody know whether Ogawa provide service to dismantle the chair and reassemble itback for moving house? I am going to move house soon. Currently, the chair is in a bedroom in 1 st floor an the stairs in my house is small to allow 4 people to carry the chair down. The chair is heavy, and as it is, it will be impossible to for 2 person to carry it down. I saw the Ogawa's staff delivered the chair to my house beore. The chair came in at least 3 different parts and easier to carry by 2 persons. The 2 staffs then assembled the chair. I am going to call O gawa soon whether they can help me with this. I dont mind pay them a little sum of money, rather than risking damaging the chair if I were to simply carry down myself.

Can anyone compare between Ogawa, Gintell and Takasima for budget around RM4k?

I tried Ogawa before (RM3k on promotion recently): Not comfortable.

Gintell Gold: (with thermal function) Satisfied but a bit costly (RM5k)

Takasima En-Amor II latest (RM4.4k deducting freebies): Satisfied but heard people said that Takasima's product is of low quality.

Any advise?

Hi to all,

Actually, I really hesitated and wondered if I should post this cause I may receive lots of brick-bats and rotten eggs thrown at me, not to mention massage chairs manufacturers as well. Not only that, most people may totally disagree with me too. Is it worth the risk?

So, please bear with me for I feel that it is my duty to do so (though I may be receiving many criticism and people judging my intentions etc).

My feedback:

1. I have heard and seen more than 1 case where after a while, users of massage chairs just use their chairs to fold their clothes.

2. I have also heard of someone who wanted to sell his off because he developed shoulder stiffness. Someone in this thread rightly said that it is better to get a human massage because each of our body contours are different, some are taller/shorter, heavier/lighter etc. Therefore, a prolong use of mechanical massage can cause injuries to our internal tissues.

3. I personally met a lady who have faithfully used her massage chair for more than 4 years (until the unit rosak). She had developed back pain, shoulder stiffness, arm and hands pain and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, where she was advised to go for surgery.

4. In the holistic care centre I associate with, these are common stories.

Please, I am not against anybody but just be aware of all these as these are real concerns.

For back pain (yes, many older folks suffer from these) and the need to have a good de-stress at home (who does not need it) there are actually much better alternatives, not to mention cheaper too.

i also looking for a chair to pamper all members in a family. But, only one question keep asking myself; How long will the excitement of having a massage chair lasts? May be it just a short excitement then soon the massage chair will be left unused.

I only use the portable 200rm type massager. Works for my back and neck after a tough day badminton coaching. Try that one first. wink.gif

I need to revive this thread as I am considering buying the latest model of uDivine from Osim. Reason is that both my wife and I always have stiff shoulder from all the stress that we got from work and we need massage to destress it. Any reviews on whether its worth it to buy or not? I read some concern where we will develop some symptoms which might require surgery IF we over rely on massage chair. Is this really true?
