My Sheltie babies born on May 2. One looks like father and one looks like mother. They have very nice marking, white line on nose & face.

Wow...your Sheltie boy grew so big so fast, 3 weeks didn't see him already grew so much. Thanks for taking good care of him, can see his fur shining some more.

The new batch babies didn't inherit their father's red eyes. What a bummer! I like their father's red eyes. Looks like both babies are male. Yet to confirm that, need to wait for 2 more weeks. I have reload the picture though.

Looks very familiar to me. Very alike to one of my Sheltie baby I sold last year. I suspect is him.

But it wasn't right for the guy to just give it away mar. Such a cutie. He shouldn't have taken it in the first place.
*
Poor thing, can see this Sheltie was not well taken care off by his previous owner. Its fur not glossy anymore, and didn't put on much weight at this age.

Rabbit pellet doesn't contain as much vitamin C as needed by GP, not healthy.

how come all ur GP in the picture below look so big n fat????
wat size they are???
age of them to reach to huge size?
*
Maximum size is around 23 cm (without stretch). They should reach to maximum size by 7-8 months old. I constantly provide sufficient food to my GPs until they no longer make oink-oink sound to me. They oink-oink sound means they want food to me. I give them all sorts of veg & fruits ie. pamelo skin, pandan leaves, bayam, green apple, red apples, petola, timothy hay etc. My Adult Sheltie GP weight around 950g to 1kg. Peruvian GPs are smaller in size as compared to Sheltie and lighter in weight as well only around 800g each.

I never toilet trained my GPs, so cannot give you any advice on this though. I cleaned their cage every 3 days.

Yesterday morning found one of my precious Peruvian GP died. Still can't understand why it died suddenly. It was healthy, heavy and eating well.
Sigh...very sad and down because today another beautiful pet bird of mine also died suddenly. Still wondering what went wrong with them. Because they look pretty normal didn't show any sign of illness in them before death. sad.gif I suspect it could be the green veg my maid fed them wasn't clean properly.

This is the one that died yesterday. Sigh...very hard to get over their death. cry.gif

din bring him let doc check for the causes of his death??

He is 1 year 5 months old.

Post Mortem? Must be very expensive on small animal like this. Probably that cost can buy another Peruvian GP already.

Get  a tissue paper box, and cut it into 45 degree, place it on your cage as hay rack.
*
LOL! I think my GPs would chew up the tissue box as well! Anyway, great idea!

My only concern is what if they tear up the box instead of the hay first, then would be very messy.

These 2 babies the more I look at them, the more I want to keep them, further more they are female.

Different parents from your Sheltie. But related, cousin then.

I will keep them to accompany my another lonely Peruvian and Abby then. Poor Peruvian, saw his brother died already, very lonely and moody. I tried to put him with another lone ranger Abby, but they fight. So no choice only these 2 babies could keep them company.

Juztiny... You always poison people! AHHH!!!! Jealous.... Look so cute. The one on the right looks like Mooz's Sheltie.
*
By year end, I will move to a corner house, I'm thinking of putting them in the garden area, so that their poos could be the fertilizer for my grass. But wondering their pee is toxic to the grass or not? But also concern about the direct sunlight on to their cage. Still haven't figure out any good idea yet. If anyone has any good idea to share with me would be great!

@sharil
last night have decided to take its pic..
but it was laying down on my chest dat time, don't want to disturb him/her..

----------------------------

i dunno how to differentiate between a male and female baby.. huhu..
the testicles won't be visible obviously during their childhood rite?
*
If you see the whole shape of genital is triangle shape, then is female, if it is oval or round shape then is male.

A pix speaks better than words. Here is just an example. Remember to install a ceiling fan for you and your guinea comfort. Place a table so you can teh tarik and watch your guinea running around... hehe. Their pee and poo are fertilizer..no worry.

If the sulight is partial, does not scorch the half or entire cage, a little bit is good for animals, natural Vit D.

Build a wash basin specially for your guinea too!

Corner house may have predators cats breaking in, possible build it more private with high wall fencing. Just 2sens.

Thanks for sharing the picture, yeah...my house currently back portion is like yours, but still pretty stinky, my next door neighbour complaint, so I have to move to a corner house then I'm thinking of put them more to the open air area (garden) together with my birds aviary.

hmm.gif Which brngs us to the question as to why our country's GP is skinny. Why ar? No matter how much they eat they don't get as chubby. Just fat.
*
I think those country that has 4 seasons, during winter time, may be GP will eat more to store body fat just like a bear. Actually my Sheltie GPs are quite fat, can feel their thick double chin.

blink.gif Double chin?? Isn't that unhealthy? It's unhealthy for a human to have double chins already.

May be as they grow older, they will be getting fatter. The oldest I have is coming to 2 years old.
