Buy power inverters - 160w or more and that should do the trick - make sure that you have sufficient w to power up your speakers.

Get the accesories shop guys to modify the power inverter a bit straight to your battery - not using the normal cigarette lighter port.

Then put this inverter on your rear bonnet. These inverters should have a normal plug (like the 3 pins we have at home) to plug your PC speakers.

After you got that powered up, connect your PC speakers to your amp (or line out of your player - if you have one) - might need to purchase the right cables for these.

After that, place your speakers somewhere nice wink.gif

I've seen a kenari with altec lansing before, the driver actually put this upside down (i don't know the model but the speakers are thin and long) bolted it to the roof and damn it look nice.

Post a pic if you manage to do it! thumbup.gif

wah save cost until like this ah? shakehead.gif

sure or not can plug direct to car battery? I read somewhere that the car voltage will go up and down and it's not stable.
You might risk burning your speakers if like that blink.gif

Anyway good luck then. Do share with us if your project is a success thumbup.gif cool.gif

Hey guys,

If I want to modify my car to enable my PC speakers to be installed, where can I go to ?
Can you all recommend a place for me to go.

Most shops refuse to do such modifications because they want to push for you to buy their subwoofer, amplifier system  and so on which is super expensive.

Please advise and thank you all.

Just DIY - would be cheaper.

all you need is a power inverter, an audio out from your standard HU or amp, pc speaker, and of course, a place to hold it.

TS, so now how? U goin back to the project or not.. why failure ma?
Maybe you choosed the wrong set of speakers to play with?

Anyway if you would like your sound better, just add in a cheap tweeter at the front, and buy 1 subwoofer and put it at the back, crank up your volume (not too loud though!) and i think you should be satisfied.

Unless you want to throw away that inverter of yours - do PM me the price. I live near Cyberjaya laugh.gif who knows might have a use for it.. hehe
