Hey guys I'm new to this thread. I've had my 6400 for more 2 years already. I'm having the 3 years complete cover, but recently I'm thinking of upgrading (adding 1 or 2 sticks of RAM). I searched on dell's website, a stick of 1GB DDR2 costs 364RM inc delivery.
Have anyone tried upgrading through dell? Or shall I buy the ram outside (which I suppose would be much cheaper) and install myself? Is there a seal on the laptop's cover which would void the warranty if it's broken?
*
Just call DELL Helpline and ask them about it

I'm thinking of bumping up my RAM too, currently 1GB.  Having 3+ GB would help but I'm unsure if systems bought around mid '06 are able to support more than 2GB. Or are they all the same? Anyone else who bought their 6400 around that time have 2 sticks of 2GB RAM in their system?
*
Recents upgraded from others i read is around 3GB plus plus

Isn't it a little waste to have 2x 2GB dual channel when windows xp can only detect it as 3.5GB? (correct me if i'm wrong, I heard of this from a friend).
I'm going to hantam 2 x 2Gb also. Sick of lagging in games.
Btw, my current ones are of 533mhz, can anyone confirm if 6400 can support 667mhz ddr2?

Nothing wrong with it, you can proceed but the XP will read only around that
try la, may be you can report back after that to us what happen
