tomoro is big day 9th may....i hope for significant improvement from celcom...
the most important for me are: 1) stable connection (decent & consistent at least 384kbps for my d68) 2) less disconnection problem 3) improve peak hour surfing problem 4) BT & other p2p can be used anytime if all the problems solve, i'm very happy to pay rm68 per month for my celcom broadband.. |

bakc to the 5GB/month cap issue, i think it is not appropriate for ISP to put it.... becoz the main objective people want to subscribe for broadband service is to get fast download speed so that they can download as many as they can...
the ISP offer 3.6Mbsp download speed... if this theoretical speed is consistent enough, people can download 5GB around 23 hours only... so what is the relevant of the 5GB cap ?? need we to upgrage the speed up to 7.2Mbps ?? so that we can download 5GB of content around 12 hours and than our speed been throttled back to dial up for the rest of the month ?? this is nonsense policy.... we want the ISP that set no limit to download content..thats only can call UNLIMITED.... truely unlimited broadband....thats what customer need.... why no isp can serve this kind of service ?? we're not in 3.5" floppy disk era anymore....we're in TeraByte world now.. that they study or do some survey what their customer really need ?? so in malaysia there's no ISP like that...that show our broadband technology is behind from computer storage technology.....its should be proportional & balance... |

conclusion: nothing we or they can do...celcom careline will never solve our problem... they are not technical people... unless they put technician or engineer on call than we'll get appropriate answer...

QUOTE(yongkailoon @ May 11 2008, 03:12 PM) By the way if there is a petition or an official complaint letter, we could start to attack point by point, for example we could argue that the 5GB per month limit is just too little for an average users these days. Next is the ridiculously capped speed if the quota is exceeded, at 64kbps and and utter high latency. i'm next to u about 5GB/month limit... it is stupid policy i think... like i said before, we're not in 3.5" floppy disk era anymore... we're in terabytes now..... 5GB a month ?? doesn't make sense at all... they should put it around 30GB to 40GB limit per month at least...unlimited also be good....then only we can call truly unlimited broadband... |

QUOTE(august8 @ May 12 2008, 05:41 PM) For those who are b****ing about various things, allow me to highlight the following from Celcom's website, from their fair usage policy: it's just half of the story man... furthermore, 5GB limit for me is extremely not generous...Finally, save the best for last: 15. What can I do to un-throttle? For now, there is no means for customers to request for un-throttling. All throttling will be enforced from the moment of breach of 5GB until the last day of the month. Un-throttling will only be done on the first day of every month. However, Celcom will have the option of purchasing more data volumes to prevent throttling in the near future. Therefore, as this has been clearly stated in their policies and forms part of the valid contract that you have signed with them, none of you here has a valid case to present to politicians, the MCMC or whomever's grandmother. Live with it, or just cancel it and move on with your lives CASE CLOSED. how about not been throtlle but still got slow speed... ?? it's still an issue... no need to close case if there're ongoing issue... we're not riding free broadband here... we're paying for it... just to share speedtest of my office broadband...hehe... ![]() |

tired already to discuss this fair usage policy laa...
my conclusion, all isp in malaysia are sucxx...why cannot provice reliable consistent service... looklike TNB, at least their service always consistent... 240V always alive in our power point... rarely happen fluctuate or crappy voltage drop... it carry high energy somemore...must burn fossil fuel sommore... a lot of maintenance process in their operation....yet their charge & electricity rate still acceptable for 24 hours use... we can use it unlimited.. no such thing as "fair usage policy".. i think we overpaid for crappy braodband service by crappy ISPs in Malaysia.. ... broadband actually is an overated technology... sorry la out of topic comparison.... but i really piss of about broadband provider....
