Hi all

I'm afraid that not all cards are modable. It's like 9800SE->9800PRO's time. U need luck.

So far, it looks like ksking's card is the only one modded perfectly. Mine is half successful. My card is ok in 3dmark 06 and Assasin's creed, but got artifacts in 03' and 05'.
Cool. But mine still same as trying the BIOS u uploaded.
This is the comparison of b4 modding and after modding in 03. (I didn't use 06 because my PCI-E slot bandwidth is 8x only and my CPU is a major bottleneck)
Do note that I forced the card to finish the 03' test even though with artifacts. It's far from being useable ....

despite all the bios flashing lottery, is the 9600 GSO a worthy budget card?

is the capability at stock bios at overclocking and game performance e.g. crysis, cod4 worth the price?

9600 GSO still lose to 9600 GT cos it's just same like 8800 GS. Crysis playable at mid settings. COD4 can play full i think. So it's still a good card for budget people like me. Just that if get to softmod then become super duper keng card. Hahaha! Extra lottery. So I guess I'll buy this =P

Yeah, I have tried that drivers too. Like i said, I have tried many combination....confused up.

i got 1 problem ......thats is my gc oc problem ......

my pc : 2.666mhz + 667 mhz 1x2 gb 5-5-5-12....in same setting ....

gc setting 1 : 600/1500/1000  mark = 9470

gc setting 2 : 650/1650/1050 mark = 92xx

gc setting 3 : 660/1650/1050 mark 90xx .....
what happen with the gc  ??     y i more oc the performance more drop .....  

Different chip used.
Galaxy 96GSO and 8800GTS: G92- 400

8800GT: G92- 200 (I think)

9600GS lame, 8800GS: G92-150

I personally think that Galaxy paid Hardspell to put out this article while in reality you just can't flash it. Probably BS to sell their cards, as the 9600GSO isn't exactly popular.

Got mine. Flashed to GTS was no go...booted windows with static color

Flashed to 8800GT. boot to windows

weird thing is..i can get it to 88gt to deskstop..but i cant seem to complete the driver installation

probably need to modify the drivers somehow...just a guess la

What updates you want? Haha.. Everyone failed except for our legendary god XD. =D Got 1 try 8800GT instead boot into windows but can't install driver. That's about as far as they go.

Btw I managed to OC to 670/1640/2160 easy...no artifacting with a temp of 81 on load...is this a bit too high?

Added on June 5, 2008, 4:48 pmJust now i OC extra 200mhz (2.5 ghz)...my score jump to 97xx. LOL! It's the proc la...sienz. If I can oc more then I happy dy...but my mobo dunno why, adjusting the K8>NB from X5 to X4 doesn't change a thing so now i'm limited by my HTT speed

Woot!!! More people getting it to work.. =/ I'll see at the end of June what's the prices of 9600GSO and 3870 XT3 Then I'll make a decision.

=) If 9600GSO can drop to RM300 I'll buy that. From adliew ^^ Since it's not batch dependant.. (Hopefully by then still got stock. Gulp..)

i tried overlocked shader clock to 1700Mhz and GPU to 700, but it's unstable..
is it that i need to set something before doing that much overclocking??(sorry, i am totally noobie in OC)

After flash it to GS 88GTS then riva tuner will show 512mb 256bit 128sp ?

Because fps doesnt really improve much , just improved by the core/mem speed of 88GTS IMO.
