"Included quite a number of sports equipment including bodybuilding.
Excludes sportswear, sports shoes. Also excluding kid's bicycles unless it's for competition. Golfballs and shuttlecocks can be rebated from income tax claims." got this off another thread here on lyn.. |

QUOTE(rstusa @ Apr 26 2012, 03:32 PM) QUOTE From Akta 576 - Akta Pembangunan Sukan 1997) Pembangunan Sukan JADUAL PERTAMA (seksyen 2) Aktiviti yang berikut adalah dikira sebagai sukan bagi maksud Akta ini: 1. Memanah 2. Olahraga 3. Sukan Air 4. Sukan Bermotor 5. Badminton 6. Bola Keranjang 7. Biliard dan Snuker 8. Bina Badan 9. Boling 10. Tinju 11. Kriket 12. Lumba Basikal 13. Sukan Ekuestrian 14. Kapal Layar From the following table no specific mention marathon but I guess it falls under Olahraga/Athletics. Usually what you pay for marathon? Isit shoes, the outfit, fees, drinks/supplement? I know shoes & outfit cannot get exemptions but fees maybe yes or else how else you going to benefit from the tax exemption for this sporting category? QUOTE D8C PEMBELIAN PERALATAN SUKAN UNTUK AKTIVITI SUKAN It just mentioned 'peralatan sukan' in there.. so I guess the fee is not counted? Perenggan 46(1)(l) btw.. Tax rebate and tax exemptions is two different category. Tax rebate you can offset the whole amount from taxable income; (there's only 3 category e.g individual rebate for taxable income lower than RM35,000 per annum, married couple, and ZAKAT) whereby tax exemption is just getting certain goods from being taxed off your total income.. (many category e.g sport equipments, high speed broadband etc). And you got relief too from EPF, Life/medical insurance and all. This post has been edited by Band Aid: Apr 11 2013, 07:12 AM |

Equipment = Tangible items
Believe all those fees and renting of badminton court or paying for other service are not included. |

Usually i just grab myself a new pair of vibram and it easily exceed rm300
I dun think fees from Gym, Yoga class etc apply in this matters, it's more of a physical goods tax reduction. |

QUOTE(spana @ May 5 2008, 11:45 AM) The question is whether this RM300 is deductable from: - first time do income tax ar?1. Total Taxable Income. OR 2. The Actual Tax payable. Eg. if my total taxable income is RM100,000 a year and this RM300 is deducted from here...then this tax relief is just peanuts.... but if my taxable income is RM100,000 and the total tax payable is lets say RM8,000... if this RM300 is deducted from here, then it is very much worth it.... my net tax payable will be RM7,700. this is huge man.... anyone can clarify this.... ??? it's no1 la of course. it's eligible for tax reduction, not RM300 sponsor... /k cakap aje all 20k salary, but all never do tax... lipot to lhdn |
