Well, just don't buy mobile from comsat will do, because only Comsat is like that, buy from CSL which I believe is good as my friend's mobile sent for warranty, 3 days come back.

But the thing is some models there is a big price different between AP & Ori set.
Even if the AP phone spoil after 1 or 2 year, I can always send it back Nokia or SE service center to repair. Just that I have to pay $$$ but even after paying $$$ it won't be more expensive than the original phone price.

So far I have bought a phone from CSL & Telstra. My CSL phone warranty have expired without any problem while I just bought a phone from Telstra.

Sometimes you have to look at Ori and AP price, I do know some models the price difference isn't that big, maybe around rm100 only. Maybe for those phones it is more worth it to buy Ori phone.

sigh, ive encounter da "same" prbl like u.

my n80, after a year da fon screen light is flickering, so i ask around da fon shops, they said it would be ribbon prbl. ok, since i still can c da screen in da light, i din bother much.

den, da screen totally black out, so no choice i haff to send it to repair. so 1 day i was shopping with my fren in sg wang, den saw a "stall" in front of a boutique providing repair service, i ask da technician to check, den da price i bargained was ok, so i jz decided to repair at that stall. so after few days, done, n i can use addi.

but rite after warranty is over, my fon screen cant c anything again. so i went back to tat stall n look for da same technician, he checked n je said it was da ribbon prbl again. so he changed another 1 for me again n it's work.

of coz i tot everything is fine. but unfortunately, da prbl came again. so 1 more time i went back to him, n he said he have to take longer time to check, coz it might LED (or sth) is not working. so ok, den he checked n no prbl, da screen is no prbl, da LED is working. but again, wen i take it back n use few days, black out again!!! gosh, den da technician thr said it would be da board prbl.

sigh, i din repair it till now, cant repair, very hard to repair, coz my fren said da technician might did sth on my board or sth, coz my fren oso selling hp, juz not in kl. =(

agree, i bought n95 8gb a month ago in lyp, ap company is UTNT, never heard before but the set is very good, handset made in finland, battery made in japan, cable in thailand and headset in china...very impressed so all original, as you will know when u see and touch it, all under rm1800. and the service centre in lyp also. ok gua i think.

at the first time i was thinking of comsat, similar price but the seller told me comsat warranty for lcd just cover 1 month only, so i choose UTNT lol, maybe i was cheated but i feel relieved now after hearing so many complains on comsat.

sorry to hear that COMSAT is such a useless company.

as you rightly mentioned .. for a small difference .. just buy ori set would be the best choice ..

It is incumbent upon the seller/dealer to advise the customer about the reputation and reliability of the company providing the warranty.

There is no law that spells this out. It is just good business practice.

For prospecting buyers out there, if what the dealer tells you is too good to be true, it usually is.

COMSAT
always like that, if your phone was new, small problem, you can get back few days
if big problem you may have to wait few months...
if your phone almost 1 year, normally they will told you "water damage"

NEFION
send few phones before, same answer "water damage" but they do fix the phone also

FINAL CHOICE
suck... i remember i've send a 3650 before, but when i collect the phone, they told me your repair before, seal was broken...
do you know how many warranty seal on the srew? they were 5! if all broken how come they didnt mention when receive the phone...

BBS
slow to fixed the phone, even just update firmware...

many many more...

some AP company bankrup (actually they just change to other name) so your phone cant get warranty

in this case, i dont think you send your own to service centre if good idea (i mean AP)

better send back to phone shop you bought, you just buy the mobile not car, not need send yourself

SO IF YOU GOT MONEY JUST BUY ORIGINAL (OFFICIAL DISTRIBUTOR WARRANTY) COS PROTECT YOURSELF
AP set actually they get from other country, but they may "steal" the accessories inside (here not mean the phone shop, it could be the supplier)

i think if u are buying a cheap fone.....then buy AP......if spoilt oso....u dont feel it much....just can buy another one. But for the more expensive phones.....buy original lar.....so u dont sakit hati.....there is no worse feeling than the feeling that u have been cheated, especially if it is a big sum. Lost sleep at night, worry during the day, extra stress, pressure, just not worth the extra money u save buying AP.

At least the Original suppliers have a standard to maintain, or else, they would lose the distributorship. U can complain to the parent company if your local distributor does not service your phone satisfactorily. At least there is a check and balance. with AP, all you get is the gangster replies from Ah Yan and Ah Beng, makes u look stupid arguing with them, cos they have no class and no professionalism.

If i were u TS, i would have just taken my fone back, if he doesnt want to extend u the warranty. There is no point surrendering the item in a compromising situation where u feel that u are being pushed into a corner. The customer should always have the upper hand.

Oh my.................. really feel bad for u.. Thanks for sharing!

Lynxs, I like what u said, "with AP, all you get is the gangster replies from Ah Yan and Ah Beng, makes u look stupid arguing with them, cos they have no class and no professionalism."

LOL.

In conclusion, it's not advisable to but a AP phone. Right?

I think i know which shop you are talking about. I went there like last month to buy a new phone. I asked for ORI price, but that guy tried to convince me to buy AP. He said the warranty is the same but some more AP warranty is 2 years. I was not a noob, the way he convinced me was like trying to cheat me, as though he thought i dont know anything about phones. I don't recommend anyone to buy a phone from them.
