FYI you are not restricted to just 'investing' rm3,000 in this scheme. They have a lot of different entry points ranging from rm3,000 to even rm33,000! I'm glad that this thread exists otherwise a lot of people would have gotten burnt. I note with interest that the discussion had been going on this forum for a few months and that the STG scheme is still going strong. Any idea if the Sunway Pyramid outlet is opened yet alongside the other outlets?

I also notice that their website has no mention of any restaurant locations so does that indicate they're still not opened for business yet? Which means no avenue to generate revenue to sustain this scheme (apart from relying on 'new investors')

It has been launched officially to coincide with Beijing Olympics and free food in sunway pyramid.

Ok, thanks for the update. So I guessed they have launched their first outlet.

However as I pointed out they have different entry ranges into this scheme (I hesitate to use the word 'scam' here), from rm3k up to rm33k (or even more, who knows). Which makes this scheme no longer a 'prepaid food' scheme, but an investment scheme. I started reading up more on this when someone dear to me said that they were gonna invest so much money into the scheme. And as i read along this forum, the skepticism just grew.

Hope this forum continues on while the progress of this saga develops..

"still going strong" or not depends on how you interprete it. As such investment scehems are no longer new in Malaysia, many people no longer believe them and those who are new and believe go for schemes that gave much higher returns. In fact, SC announced that STG wuill open in Sunway, TS, MV, Genting and even tie up with Touch n Go. They announced in April but until today most doesn't come true, so you can guess whether they are strong or not. Definitely, their performance have not been as good as they anticipated.

There are many conditions not mentioned in their website too. One of my friend noticed a "condition" in the agreement "hidden" earlier and believed my opinion that it is a scam.
Even till today, they don't have a MLM license.  Actually from the way they operate, you can tell whether it is a scam or not.

Hidden condition eh? Probably in the small prints of the legal document.. care to share what is that condition?

Sionce your skeptism grew, you should caution your dear friend/s. Otherwise, in future they could blame you for not doing so since you have read this thread. Thats what friends are for...

I have cautioned them and have sent them the link to this forum and talked to them... just hope that that's enough to convince them...as someone mentioned there are a lot of smart people reading and contributing to this forum, but unfortunately there are also a lot of average Joes who are not financial-savvy and thus becomes prime fodders for such 'schemes' that promises lucrative returns. They're lured by the prospect of doubling their investment while being offered 'commissions 'if they find others to join. All the promised rewards make them oblivious to the huge risks, and when cautioned about the risks involved, they stand by the adage of "No risk no gain". Unfortunately, that's human nature - greed.

Just to share some information from Bank Negara Malaysia.. it's from their brochures given out freely on illegal money dealings.

http://www.bnm.gov.my/index.php?ch=103&pg=456&ac=550&print=1

Read it and decide for yourself whether this sounds familiar or not. Nothing much for anyone to argue about here - it's from Bank Negara Malaysia. I'll leave it at that.

regards..
