would be easier for yourself to have all the declared items (medicine / food / etc) in a separate bag. As most of the items will be removed from the bag therefore, packing them back in will be easier.

When the officer checks your declared items you just point to that specific bag for them to check. Usually they will only check the one you said the declared goods are in.
