The day tour costs AUD100 - AUD150!!  rclxub.gif I also think another alternative that is taking blue mountain line and stop at Katoomba station. Then, from Katoomba station will take a bus to blue mountain. Anyone tried that before?

Thank you

The best way to Blue Mountain will still be going by train via katoomba. At just outside the station, there is a tour shop which will sell you the blue mountain bus rides which includes some of the rides within the national park.

1. I will have to go back and look for it. It still have some credit left. You are also going to Melbourne right, do u need the myki card? If not mistaken, that you have to pay but I got it free from a friend which I can pass it on to you.

It would be too rush to do congee walk, manly and Watson Bay in one day for me personally cause I dont like to fit too many things in a day. I think you can skip Manly since you already going to do the Congee Walk as you will be passing by plenty of beautiful beaches along the way such as Bronte, Bondi, Tamarama, Congee, etc. I actually have not been to Watson Bay myself so cant advise much on the fish and chips You can always do Congee walk early in the morning cause that time it would be end of Spring so you will get longer day. Just make sure you keep yourself hydrated and stops for food along the way.

It is actually coogee rather than congee. Coogee watson bay n manly are located quite far apart. Really nothing much in manly if you ask me. But the ferry ride across the harbour is quite nice.

I used to stay in Clovelly for some 8 years in the 90s. Always love the walk and knows all the corners and special hideouts at Clovelly cliffs and those at Gordon bay.

South head at vaucluse is actually much nicer as you can actually see Pacific ocean on one side and sydney city on the other. There some ww2 war relics there. No tourist there 30 years ago and the last trip there last year seemed to remain so. Not sure if there are public transport there but easily get to by a rented car.

Best place to rent a car? Bayswater. Last trip it was still aud25 for a nice current model Toyota altis. Best in the last 30 years... haha

Personally, I think blue mountain is over-hyped. Really nothing much, you might want to google images before you decide to go there. Considering we come with a country with taller and better mountains… blue mountain is the most forgettable place I’ve ever visited in Australia.

Yes you can rent the car for one day.

Yes, your laminated driving license is usable. You don’t need international driving license or whatever.

For people who enjoys hiking and nature's walks blue mountain is quite nice. I have done titiwangsa and crockers range and seriously they do not come close. Perhaps weather is a factor.

I have done warrumbungle national park for 4d3n and it is one of the best places to observe the universe in southern hemisphere. Aussies national are definitely unforgettable. The only other really impressive park would be tibetan mountain and everest base camp.

hmm.. seems like sydney is not so popular in this forum.. hmm.gif
anyway, anyone have recommendations on what are the must-do things in sydney in summer?
other than sydney harbour bridge, opera house... is there any good places that only locals know? how about food, any nice and (relatively) cheap restaurants?
its a free and easy trip so 100% flexible. how much would you recommend bringing for food, transportation and entrance fees for 1 week?

Tourists must do includes Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley, Toronga Zoo, harbour cruise, etc. Less touristy would be Paddington market, Coogee-Clovelly cliff walk, etc.

Food is never cheap in Sydney. Try Harry Cafe de Wheels pies. Dimsum in Chinatown. Rent cheap cars in Kingscross.
