Hello guys, any idea how much it'll cost for a taxi or uber from domestic airport to CBD? Trying to work out what's cheaper and more covenient for 2 pax.

Train is like $18.70 pp Per way but I'm not keen on lugging suitcases around to the hotel.

I have a contact for private transfer, he charged me $65 from airport to Parramatta. How many luggage would you have?

for public transport in Sydney, could I just use Malaysia credit card contactless payment (paywave) instead of opal card?

which one will be better choice if less travel using public transport.

Regarding the ETA visa application here, the charge is AUD20. I have some questions:
-Is this AUD20 paid to iVisa Services? (that's what I see at the online website, the payment part)
-If iVisa Services, why does the government not processing itself?
-Is there a list of authorized agent to do this? Where to check the list?
-How long does it takes for the approval?
-Some people say can apply for FREE. No processing fee. How to do it for free?
-If I buy the air ticket from MAS, can MAS apply this visa for me? Any idea if there's charges? If yes, will it be cheaper than other agent?

The link you given is direct from government.

https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2838856/all can get free if you meet the requirement.

My last visit I used Apex car rental. They were cheaper than others especially on the insurance.

Do check if they have a pickup in Sydney Airport. I arrived in Brisbane and the pickup was at another location but shuttle bus provided.

"I am going to visit Australia at the beginning of the year, so I am reading reviews and I see that everyone rents cars. I can't drive, I’ll have to do something to get myself out of this. In Australia, first of all, I am interested in natural beauty, and the main cities, of course. Here's my  route:
1. Sydney
2. Melbourne
3. Tasmania
And the main questions are:
1) What are the nearest attractions in these places convenient to reach by public transport?
2) If not by public transport, please tell me some of the proven companies organizing group excursions. "
*
from my experience most attractions which are outskirts of the city centers can be reached by train or bus. but convenient-wise they are less so, since australia is big country. that's why for those places it is much more convenient to rent car. surely someone coming with you can drive?

having said that, in sydney there are opera house, hyde park, luna park, paddys market, bondi beach all within regular city public transport route (train, bus, ferry) or walk. since you like nature, blue mountains should be included.. a farther train ride away.

in melbourne, victoria market, st kilda, also within tram ride.

tasmania.. can't think of any within city (hobart or launceston) limits. plenty of natural beauties though but farther away.

Hi, for train from city to blue mountain, do I need to buy the train ticket in advance or can be purchased when I at train station? What time is the earliest train?

you can use your opal card to board the train on the blue mountains line from central to katoomba, don't need to book. as the journey takes 2 hours one-way it's advisable to start your day early. the first train is at 6+ am (not sure of the exact timing, do check!).

Australia is so unique country, I'd like to visit it someday. My aunt lives there, so it would be great to stay at her. Usually, I travel not often but have already to more than 20 countries. If you are planning your next trip, read this article before https://travelsites.com/blog/the-safest-and...tries-to-visit/

unique is one thing.. big is another. we did 3 trips in 3 years to cover perth, sydney, melbourne & gold coast

Hi guys,

Anyone have any idea is there any hourly rental cars in Sydney?

Cause I have a flight on 6am to catch. Preferrably I could rent something like Socar.

Thanks!
