those evisu jeans are sooo fail

i used to collect vintage denims

most of them are levis - the big E, the hidden rivets, single sticthing, the very famous red salvage, twist effect, leather tag, ww2 donut button, painted curvature, lazy curvature, "kain padang" and many more

for lee, there's the lazy curve s, green salvage, the big E - LEE jeans, the start or Lee RMR tag, the pre RMR jeanns, sanforized, blue bell, bla bla bla

and some other rare brands

you should have seen my collections. unfortunately, i get bored of it and didn't keep myself updated and just leave most of them rotted away - i still wear those big E and red salvage 501 for work though.

whoa i just found out about this page. didn't know there are some denimheads here too.

at the moment i'm breaking in a pair of APC New Standards redline selvage. about 1 month plus but still no fades...wearing raw denim in local weather is suffering eh

anyways, i think some bundle selling used japanese selvage for RM600-700 is ridiculous. just add about RM100++ can get a brand new pair from the internet. another great place to get is bangkok. RM50 only can get a nick 15oz raw redline selvage denim if u don't mind about brands.

HISTORY
Lee Apparel Company, Inc. is the second largest manufacturer of jeans in the United States. The company, which got its start in the dry goods business before moving into the production of denim clothing, leads in sales of women's jeans and holds a significant share of other clothing markets as well. After focusing its production on work clothes throughout the first half of the twentieth century, Lee took advantage of the sales boom in fashion jeans throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Although its market decreased considerably during the 1980s, the company has been rejuvenated through its introduction of innovative new denim processing and finishing techniques.

the usual terms use for denims/jeans:

Distress - Wear and tear on the denim. Can be in the form holes or abrasions to fades or creases. The wear and tear can be natural or artificial.

Hem - Where two pieces of fabric come together. A selvedge hem can be seen here.
user posted image

Honeycomb/Whiskers - The effect when a stiff denim is repeatedly compressed and after wash a unique fading will result in a pattern of a honeycomb. This picture shows the honeycomb before a wash and this is how it looks like after the honeycomb area is washed. This effect usually occurs behind the knee. This effect also happens under the waist and other places and is called whiskering.

Raw - Refers to a wash, in this case no wash at all. A raw pair of jeans means that the cotton is spun into threads in which are colored and woven into cloth. This cloth would be made into massive rolls of fabric in which a pattern is laid on and cut and sewn to manufacture a denim product, in this case a pair of jeans. The cloth will be cut, embroidered, riveted, folded and sewn together in the production process. After all of this production a raw pair of jeans will be folded up and sent out to be sold. The wash of jean will be rigid and stiff and will give off a slight sheen as the color will be very dark.

Rivets
- Placed in high wear places to provide added strength. Usually made of copper or brass they are punched on the corners of pockets and other parts of a jean. Hidden rivets are common as well innovated and popularized by Levi Strauss.

Selvedge/Selvage
- Term commonly used to refer to denim that has been produced on a shuttle loom. Since the amount of fabric produced from a shuttle loom is significantly narrower than a projectile (wide) loom, the cotton consumption is higher and the time required is greater. In selvage jeans, you will see the actual edge of the fabric where the weaving stops and is finished by the loom, as opposed to denim woven on a projectile loom, where the fabric has been cut off at the ends.

Soak - To dip your jeans in lukewarm water by hand. This can be done in a tub or a small sink. This is to shrink denim or wash denim. The hotter the water the more shrinkage will result. Dry via high heat will further shrink the denim material pending the denim is not preshrunk. Cold water and hang drying will result in minimal if any shrinking. Wearing the jeans while in a tub will shrink the denim as well. This will prevent the denim from shrinking too much and will shrink the jeans accordingly to the wearers body.

Starch - Often used to stiffen up a jean. This allows for less movement in the jean and is commonly done to promote creases as creases will fade different when washed giving a unique look.

Preventing bleeding - The high end material (exotic/african cotton) and the vintage dye and the dye process will give you the deep color and fade characteristics that are exhibited with raw and/or selvedge denim. The color usually will rub off or bleed onto lighter clothes or furniture. The only prevention is to repeatedly wash off the dyes until the material doesn't bleed anymore. The other method if you don't wish to wash off all the dye is prevention. Keeping denim dry and also taping off the cuffs of your jeans so the denim material from your jeans don't touch the top of your shoes.

Shrinking denim
- The hotter the water and hotter/longer the dry cycle the more shrinkage you are going to have on your pair of jeans. The shrinkage is dependant on the materials resistance to shrinking and how it was treated and the thickness and the amount of pre shrinking that was done on it. Levis STF jeans usually shrink up to 2 inches in the waist and 3 inches in length depending on the size of the jean.

HISTORY
Studio d’Artisan was founded in 1979 and has been producing denim in Japan and for overseas ever since. Their products have been among the most highly regarded denim lines in Japan and with the exception of some brands which are slightly more expensive such as Sugar Cane and Samurai, it is one of the top end lines in the country. Products created by Studio d’Artisan uses old, thrown aside shuttle looms to produce its jeans, eschewing most mass production techniques in favor of a more hand-made style.

The products are still designed in Osaka, in the home of the company, while the production of the jeans takes place in Okayama prefecture, an area that has been well known for its cotton weaving and indigo dying for many years. The original dying methods and looms in Okayama are still used today to provide the vintage, classic style denim that has made the company so successful.

HISTORY
Started by Jean Touitou in 1988, APC is a clothing line based in France (APC stands for Atelier des Production et Creation). Well-known for their sophisticated takes on clothing basics, the line has been occasionally derided as "the French Gap."

APC jeans fit large compared to the tagged waist size, and the 12oz denim will stretch with wear. It is generally recommended that one size down one or two from one's usual waist size to get the desired fit.

Nudie Jeans is a Swedish clothing brand and a subsidiary of Svenska Jeans AB, founded in 1999 by Maria Erixsson, a former employee and AD of Lee Europe and Swedish designer JC. The brand is, alongside Acne Jeans, WESC and J. Lindeberg, one of the most successful new Swedish clothing companies (both domestically & internationally); Nudie clothing retails in over 20 countries.

HISTORY
Evisu was formally born in Osaka, Japan in 1991 although the research and planning necessary to reproduce the perfect pair of vintage jeans had been going on for several years prior to this. The founder, and still the owner, of Evisu is Hidehiko Yamane. Yamane-san was trained as a tailor but his love for vintage jeans and his disappointment with the mass-produced modern versions led him firstly, to the vintage clothing import business and then, revolutionarily, to start putting together the elements required reproducing vintage-style jeans. This required the gathering together of all the various bits of machinery, none of which had been produced for at least 40 years, which are required to make authentic vintage jeans.

The initial production line allowed about 14 pairs of jeans a day to be produced and each of them was lovingly hand-painted with the now famous seagull logo by Yamane-san himself. Evisu (also written as Evis or Ebisu) is the name of the Japanese Buddhist god of money who is usually portrayed with a fish and fishing rod. This name was selected for the new venture as money and fishing are two of Yamane-san's five favourite things (the others being beer, women and golf - in no particular order).Although initially Evisu was more a labour of love than a commercial venture, Evisu jeans captured the imagination of the detail-obsessed, Japanese fashion crowd, spurring a revival of interest in vintage denim which has now spread around the world. In the early nineties Yamane-san introduced a tailoring line, followed by a fishing range and a golf range. In 1999 he introduced a ladies fashion line called Evisu Donna to complete the development of Evisu as a full-fashion range going far beyond a jeans brand. Evisu now has 25 shops in Japan. In 1994 Yamane-san was visited by Peter Caplowe who became an immediate convert to the Evisu ethos. They formed a partnership to develop Evisu outside Japan that now spans the globe, selling in 400 of the world's best boutiques and department stores. Despite this phenomenal growth Evisu still remains true to its artisan roots with a fanatical devotion to quality and authenticity while maintaining those two other vital ingredients of the Evisu magic potion - humor and irreverence.

HISTORY
Sugar Cane Jeans are uniquely Japanese denim made from - you guessed it - sugar cane. For many years, Sugar Cane Jeans were a ferociously guarded Japanese secret but today the brand is attracting global attention.

In July of 1965 Toyo Enterprise, parent company of Sugar Cane, was commissioned to make a limited run of jeans for the U.S. Military PX. At that time Toyo Enterprise had been producing Aloha shirts for the PX but this order marked Toyo's first entry into the production of denim jeans. In recognition of this event in Toyo's history Sugar Cane has released the Union Star Jeans. The denim is that of 100% Double ring-spun Zimbabwe cotton and includes details such as iron-made buttons, deer leather patch, and redline selvage.14.25 ounce selvage denim made from the finest 100% double ring-spun Zimbabwe cotton available in: Unwashed raw, 1 Wash and 2 Hard wash.

HISTORY
Samurai calls this the "Cloth of Super Excellence" and for good reason. Woven on vintage wooden shuttle looms, only the weaving craftsmen of the highest merit and skill were able to tame the looms that created this tough 21 ounce denim. The average weight for these antique looms is 13 ounces, 15 ounces is manageable, 17 ounces is pushing it, 19 ounces and the machines are under pressure,21 ounces is well.

While the resistance created noise at levels almost intolerable, the weavers had to basically train the machines to handle the heavyweight threads attacking and passing through them. Great hardships and pain were endured to successfully weave the "Cloth of Super Excellence". Had they not the skills nor patience to control these power looms we may never have the chance to experience this truly unique denim created by these truly unique craftsmen. They're blood, sweat, and soul is symbolized by the Red and Gold lame strands which make up the Relaxed Fit XX21oz selvage.

The leather patch depicts an image of the famous duel between Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojirō in 1612 on a remote island in Japan. Musashi was
the victor and is said to be the most skilled swordsman in history. He is also well known for his writing of Go Rin No Sho or "Book of Five Rings". This is the image commonly found on most Samurai models. This version also includes a full moon silhouette and Lot# 10, this number changes every year with this being Samurai's 10th production year. Notice the warriors are much heftier than usual due to the heavy weight of the 21 ounce denim. Front pocket bags have an original Jacquard pattern interwoven with thin beige threads which reads "Shogyo Mujo" or "All Things Change".

Samurai's iron-made sunrise buttons with the "SAMURAI & CO. LTD + JAPAN'S FINEST" imprint are used for the top center and button fly. The rivets are made of copper with the underside of the front rivets reading "Samurai" while the underside of the back rivets read "Shogyo Mujo".

Denime Jeans started back in 1988 as a vintage Japanese denim brand. The Denime brand name is inspired by French origins and is taken from Serge de Nimes the ancient textile centre and reputed “Atlantas” of the denim world. Whatever the history of denim (a controversial topic if ever there was one!), Denime Jeans and other clothing, including Shirts Shorts Sweats Denim Jackets and Tees, is another Japanese gem waiting to be plucked and plundered by the West. The following styles are all worth a gander: Denime 66 VintageTYPE — Denime XX VintageTYPE — Denime New S VintageTYPE.

HISTORY
45 rpm is a grooved stone pathway, the facade of a wooden temple, and shrine like limestone dressing rooms, this Japanese clothing store is the retail equivalent of a Zen garden. Its tranquil of-this-earth aesthetic extends to the design and display of the clothing as well. Jeans, made from Zimbabwean cotton and hand-dyed indigo, cascade from the branches of the trademark wooden tree; shredded cuffs on plaid coats stay in harmony with the hay-flecked, clay wall; and a huge array of Jomon and Sorahiko denims—woven on vintage shuttle looms—balance out the in-house line of fashionable jackets, shirts, and sweaters (many made with organic materials like boiled wools and Suvin cotton). Yet even with all that good karma in the air and on the racks, these edgy jeans and deconstructed styles somehow epitomize Tokyo cool.

HISTORY
Edwin Japan can trace its roots back to the 1950s. However, it’s generally accepted the brand started in 1961. The name “EDWIN” comes from playing with the 5 letters of “DENIM” Reversing the DE to ED and then reversing the NIM to MIN and then flipping the M to make a W: EDWIN!

EDWIN International quick history:

1970
In 1970 more American WORK WEAR clothes are being made. A very important model, the OVERALL becomes a trend.

1972
The STRONG JEANS are being made which encourage the HIPPIES. A new folk fashion is born with the PATCHWORK by EDWIN.

1980
The CHICAGO JEANS are on the market. There’s a big fuss about the CHICAGO campaign that year. Also, the STONE WASH series reaches the market.

1982
EDWIN is now on the market officially via the ELITE FASHION CHANNEL. The sales of the INTERNATIONAL BASIC SERIES, which are the improvement of the WORK WEAR stabilizes. This year the LONDON SLIMS make their debuts in Japan, after request of the people who already had heard of the great success the LONDON SLIMS had abroad.

1985
USA EDWIN International is founded. Musicians like Kenny Rogins, Hewy Louis and Billy Joel, appreciate the quality and fit of EDWIN clothes by wearing them. EDWIN starts to attract the peoples attention without advertising campaign.

1986
The production in IOWA, USA begins. This way, the first made in USA EDWIN hit the market. EDWIN merges with the second greatest jeans company in the USA, LEE. This was the result of the fact that the creator of jeans in America had the KNOW-HOW of EDWIN.

1992
The BAGGY JEANS and the WORKMAN JEANS which were made with retro DENIM in 1991, make great sales. The ROSS which achieves great sales in Europe hits the Japanese market. There’s a merger with FIORUCCI (casual brand in Italy) and a cooperation with CARHART (an american WORKWEAR company). Assorted EDWIN models are being produced.”

HISTORY
Dior Homme is the menswear division of Christian Dior SA, the French clothing retailer. Dior Homme has been under Hedi Slimane's creative direction since the fall/winter 2001-02 season; under his direction, Dior Homme has introduced a characteristic slim-fit which has since taken off within the fashion industry. The early collections delved into the exploration of the male sex. The look darkened during the Luster period which was inspired by the electroscene of Berlin. Since 2004 A/W, Dior Homme has delved into exploring the different styles of Rock. A popular rumor is that Karl Lagerfeld lost about 90 pounds so he would fit into one of Slimanes suits. During the 80s and 90s Dior's menswear line was called Dior Monsieur. Nowadays, Dior Homme is worn by different people from the average skinny guy to celebrities. Brad Pitt, Mick Jagger, and David Beckham have all been spotted wearing the clothes. Due to quarrelling over Slimane doing a women's line at Dior, his contract was not renewed. Dior has hired Kris Van Assche, who has already completed the Spring/Summer 2008 show. Many items from past seasons are very collectible. A few of these items include the blood wound shirt, the d point belt, and a few pairs of jeans from 'Strip'.

HISTORY
Iron Heart's parent company Works Incorporated, has been in the denim manufacturing business for over twenty-five years. Over those many years they have mastered the art of making denim that is not only extremely heavy, but very comfortable to wear considering it's weight.

They leave no detail unturned, from the sheen of their beautiful denim to the extremely thick leather tag their denim screams of overindulgence. The denim is constructed of 100% hand-picked Zimbabwe cotton, known for it's unusually long fibers, giving this denim an even look but a very soft hand.

With Iron Heart we're never surprised at how far they take durability. As their tags say "My Favorite Rugged Wear", you won't find a more durable and well constructed pair of jeans.

HISTORY
The FlatHead was established in 1996 by Masayoshi Kobayashi. Kobayashi took vintage denim from the 1920’s through to the 1960’s and deconstructed it to analyze the precise dyeing and stitching techniques. He then set out to produce classic styled clothing made in the same manner as the original garments. As part of this process, he uses only specially selected high quality material and employs highly skilled Japanese craftsmen.

The FlatHead’s selvedge denim is woven on old-style shuttle looms that can ,make only 50 meters of denim per day, however approximately 3 meters of fabric is required to make each pair of jeans, this is a labour of love. The shuttle loom process is time consuming, but the dnim produced has a different “touch” and “feel” to that of denim produced on modern looms, thus giving the FlatHead denim products the aura of vintage denim.

As far as the dyeing process is concerned, only the surface of the thread is dyed with indigo, the centre of the thread staying white. The result of this “loop dyeing” is that as the jeans wear with age the denim fades in a beautiful and authentic fashion.

In addition to denim jeans, jackets and shirts, The FlatHead also produces a wide range of other authentically created garments. These include shirts, T shirts, leather goods and knitwear.

Kobayashi says that “At the time of purchase the product is only half complete, it is only fully complete once the garment has melded itself to the unique shape of the individual”

Today, the nation's high sensitivity for the exclusive shops will be sold.

bro zulzaraeen,

nanti if i have the time ill snap some pics of the nudies...
mine are straight sven selvedge and average joe raw indigo....

mmg tak break in lagi....
aku target nak pakai 2 tahun tanpa di basuh !!! hahhahah....

but as u can see at nudie's site,
you have to wear it everyday, then you would get the highlighted fade...

kalau pakai sekali sekala, mmg tak nampak sgt !
so in my case, im just gonna leave it till it shines ! hahhaha....

about the imperials,
i saw it at a store in Perth, where i studied...
mahal tuh mmg mahal, abt 250 ++ AUD....
time aku blaja, abt 800RM gitu....
skrg nie should be cheaper with the current economic crisis....

but i suggest if you want to buy all of these denims check out this one particular german site...
www.cultizm.com .... mmg kengkadang can get cheaper than anyone else !.... especially nudies !

nudies nie bebudak indon kat tempat aku blaja mmg ramai pakai....kira stylo lah....hahhah.... tapi skrg aku tgk diorang dah move on ke tsubi...another aussie brand, gempak gak style dier.... and also cheap monday.... but aku still ader prasan afew indo guys yg pakai nudies around kl....

another site aku nak share dgn kau, tempat aku beli online for jeans is,
http://www.contextclothing.com/
site nie mmg ader banyak style style baru...
aku minat dekat jaket parajumpers tuh...
rare beb...
buat ikut army specs....
baru sertttttttttttttt.....

oh well,
ive done too much typing bro....
later later kite chit chat k ?
godspeed my fren !
i have to get some coffee for the sleepy eyes !

QUOTE(zulzaraeen @ Sep 9 2008, 12:17 AM)
the usual terms use for denims/jeans:

Distress - Wear and tear on the denim. Can be in the form holes or abrasions to fades or creases. The wear and tear can be natural or artificial.

Hem - Where two pieces of fabric come together. A selvedge hem can be seen here.
user posted image

Honeycomb/Whiskers - The effect when a stiff denim is repeatedly compressed and after wash a unique fading will result in a pattern of a honeycomb. This picture shows the honeycomb before a wash and this is how it looks like after the honeycomb area is washed. This effect usually occurs behind the knee. This effect also happens under the waist and other places and is called whiskering.
user posted image
this is honeycomb

user posted image
this is whiskering

Levis STF jeans usually shrink up to 2 inches in the waist and 3 inches in length depending on the size of the jean.

hey bro....lama aku tak usha this particular thread....

well to get those effects, it would require abt 6 months to 1 year constant wear tau ! it means as often as possible, wear your jeans....
thats why nudie call theirs, second skin....to make jeans that you would wear everyday....

if you want to expedite the effects, you can go ride a bike, do sit ups, or play football with your jeans.... then you could create the effects a bit faster...

yang pasal that ring effect, i heard they just leave a rubber bangle at the back pockets.... just leave and forget it....slowly the effects will come....

yg paling cun aku nampak, is people taruk knuckle bar !!! buku lima as they call it !!! ituh mmg chunnn abis....gangster habisss....try find the pics using google....

UPDATE: i have like 4 raw jeans....smua rotate pakai....smua tak basuh already abt 1 year and a half.... and none stinks !!! hahhaha .... and smua have not yet develop full blown effects !!!! god damnnnnnn

denim is another word for jeans bro....but in reality it covers a particular material a jeans is made with.... while in relative fact, jeans is the style of a particular clothing item...;ex: denim jeans.... hehheheh...

yeapp .. don't wash ya jeans as long as possible and keep wearing it til the indigo fades

the honeycomb is a natural process
and as for the ring .. you have to place a round object/ring/etc in your pants and wear it thoroughly while keeping it at the same location

just my 2 cents

thats true guys....keep wearing it like theres no tomorrow ! in afew months sure those whiskers would come out !

BUT 1 POINT TO REMEMBER !

1: please buy a raw denim jeans first k ?

*if its pre-washed, then ur doom with that effect for life....only a little bid of fading MIGHT occur...

hello..

my 1st post in this forum..

my collection..lee cowboy..user posted image

user posted image

they are the JAPAN rare issue replica jeans first made by hd lee up to 1943

they are lee union made sanforized shrunk indigo denim

steel donut ( doughtnut ) buttons with laurel leaves on them - these are the fly buttons are they are quite small and there are 3 of them

the top button is of the same style but is larger and is a dull nickel silver with a raised lee cowboy design

the front pockets are also copper riveted and the rivets have flat heads with the pin put through - at the back of the rivet on the reverse of the jeans they are broad and flat

lee label is black and in red weave its got union made sanforized shrunk and the lee is in yellow gold lettering

x stitching at the back pocket edges

riveted half buckle back at the rear - this is made without the straps as if to mimic a worn pair of the originals

triple stitched along the back of the jeans under the waist to give support & the same three lines of stitching on the crotch

crotch rivet

selvedge denim on the inside of the leg seams - one side is just white and the other is white with a fine tack running stitch in blue

at the rear waist there is a wonderful genuine horsehide leather tag which still retains genuine hair and fur

A Heads Up For People Who Are Getting Jeans ....

I was at Parkson Pavilion Last Year When I spotted them selling fake True Religion and 7 for all Mankind ...

Do check before you buy ... I was going through the thread and I spotted a few bad ones as well...

Here is a quick guild to how to spot fakes... (the attached are my jeans bought from the states and aus)

Inner Pocket
user posted image

Inner Tag
user posted image

Back pockets with flap ... Notice the "curve"
user posted image

Small pocket Curves
user posted image

Even after a few washes the inner pocket print is not blurry
user posted image

Ooo yah .... 1 True Religion left is SUPER T ... the other is Big T ... look at the stitches and u will see the diffrence

Do beware of people selling fakes... EVEN GETTING EM FROM MALLS !

Btw i love my jeans and I dont have money to get em anymore =(

Evisu with big M got 1, True Religion got 2, 501 Levi's seasonal ones got 5

Saving money to get NBHD =)

FAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is how a original Kaws x Levis jeans look like

http://www.freshnessmag.com/v4/2007/05/04/...-denim-preview/

btw guys .... Levis X Kaws stuff wont be selling so cheap so dont bother getting from eBay unless the seller is a pro seller on all these type of limited edition stuff ...

59 USD .... SWEAT !!!

I got a Kaws x Bape Chomper jacket which cost me 3k....

Crossover items are all limited edition so beware all these stuff ...

btw it looks like a good fake ... hahaha but still fail!

yes it's rare in msia and you cannot get this from any levi's store msia ..
maybe one of those streetwear stores in KL or penang carry them but it might not be your size
and it'll cost you around 1k - 2k ringgit definately for this pair

really dunno bro...but definitely a large differ from normal 501..if wat u call it RAW..then it is...sangat kasar...rough/raw..wat eva u call it..

seems fabric way to 'kasar'...kain seems berkanji(grainy)....that shops has another 501 come along...but the other one normal fabric use..

similar to others...

me felt dissapointed as the size so damn limited...!!huhuhuhuh..go check bro's... brows.gif

do u wear it everyday for 6 months?

not developing fades or combs most probably cuz they're not raw denim. u need creases first

if you are then ...
yes they are nudie thin finn DRY organic ecru embo
i wore them 6 months almost everyday 5-10 hours
they totally have major fades around the tight, knee, butt, and especially in coin and wallet pockets

the only problem is i dont have any digital camera
and all photos are taken by mobile's one so they werent so accurate

damn!
i went to the garden last night and checked out some 1100RM evisu denims.
too expensive for my taste when my housemate could buy a brand new kamome evisu for 135USD
what are the good things about em anyway??
i hate their fits the most and facts the backpocket gull sucks hard (imo)
can someone explain me why evisu is so much loved?
dont tell me because they are japanese denim cos there are tons which are so much better like somet/skull/pbj/dry bones..
but why evisu??

im from damansara.

i think we malaysian must have atleast 1 company that make high end denim. just buy the material from thailand / china / japan n make our own trade mark denim. this is just an opinion. if there's any one here in malaysia who could manage to produce premium denim with a good price, we (malaysian denimhead) would be proud to wear n tear our own malaysian brand n wear it with pride.

n yet, this is just my opinion. ;-)

i dont think malaysian will support our local brand...
coz they feel more proud to wear imported denim than local...
unless 'our brand' already well known internationally...hehe

first of all, nudie has 5 type of skinny cut
1. high kai = the skinniest
2. tight long john = skinny enough for a dude
3. thin finn = not as skinny as those two above, but it tapered down the leg. this is mine
4. super slim kim = tight on thigh, but not taper down the leg.
5. grim tim = roomy on tight, quite taper on knee down.

which one u prefer? their prices are vary, the cheapest is SSK (hard to find one lately), the most pricey is high kai.
i think you should buy thin finn dry stretch, which i can get you for 170USD

if you really serious want a pair, i will give you my number.

anyway, here are fit pics of my 510 when i first received em.

in regards to size....its fitting is true to size....
but it goes to certain styles...

im a 38,
and my straight sven selvedge is 38/34...fits a bit loose after awhile
and my average joe is 38/32...fits also abit loose, but abit tighter than the SSS...

im not sure abt the skinny ones like ngg has !
anyway, you can really pull off the skinnies bro ngg !!!

ENVY !

i got big butts....hahaahah...even being 6'2

but let me tell u, you wouldnt regret ur nudies !!!
its the best jeans ever !hahahha

This Nudie Average Joe jeans is a dry denim of 14.25oz. It's a size 30 but after two weeks of wear it has stretched and it can fit waist size 31 to 32...it is a non selvedge but it is heavy and it'll produce very nice fading. Was suppose to size down but bought em in true size. Plus i have two other nudie thin finns to work on now.
Size: 30/32

Nudie jeans rock!! no offense but i dont think evisu has nice fit...been into evisu before...bought a few of em raw...even pre-washes...still i dont seem to like the fit...nothing beats a pair of nudie thin finn dry stretch selvedge!! hehehe...nudie massa aka even steven with selvedge is also dope!! all i can say nudie produces the best fit so far!! Raw dry nudie yo!!

anyone into other denims such as imperial dukes, samurai, etc???

There's no difference between jeans and denim...both are the same thing but what people always talk about here and differentiate is between a normal pair of denim or premium denim..normal jeans are the one like the levi's u can get at normal levi's outlet but a premium levi's are the LVC and the shrink to fit raw 501's or may be the collabo with fragment, clot, etc etc...

Premium denim companies are like, for example, imperial duke, APC, Nudie jeans, samurai, etc etc..they dont have to be selvedge but most premium denim are selvedge..but remember..doesn't mean it ai't a selvedge it is not premium..even nudie makes non selvedge and they are as premium as hell yo!!!

those aren't fake ones but low quality ones...those u saw i think is the euro release...not the japan/made in japan ones...buying evisu here in malaysia is a waste of money coz they aren't made in japan...even the heritage is made in maccau...i stopped buying them ages ago...go to japan if u wanna get the real deal or order from japan...

but what would the prize be? if wear and tear contest then everyone who joins should buy a raw pair of denim and take picture of it from the first day it was bought =) and buying a pre wash or a second hand worn out raw jeans is considered cheating

ok. the prize is depend on how many want to be in this contez. first confirm the participant then i will anounce how much the price is. then participant must buy the jeans from me. the jeans is no other than thai's raw indigo levi's fake selvage. i will mark every jeans for the participant with every individual number n my mark to make sure no body cheat. sound stupid n want to know why im using thai's raw indigo levi's fake selvage? because i want every body can participate in this underground (becoz using fake denim) contez n first in malaysia. terms on wear and tear contest is just like any other wear and tear contest.

100% authentic.... i can tell by the chainstiched hem and nudie wave.

if they were meant to be fake, the work is just too perfect.

Added on August 22, 2009, 7:32 pmsorry double post, i forgot to tell you that in term of fade, ESDO is one of the fastest from nudie jeans.
however most of pics i've seen are kinda sucky.
hope yours turn out just great.

"enjoy"

simply do research, then you're all set.
i bought most of my jeans online and (thank God) never got the wrong size.

there is no such thing "best time to give a cold/hot soak" ..
but to answer your question, most people do the first soak at 3-4 months

yes i do get what u mean...if u walk in the rain the whole jeans would feel stiff but back to normal..well it happened to me last weekend though...and since then i can see nice fades finally after been wearing for more than two months almost 3 months...coz i was quite frustrated initially when i dont see any changes in tone i.e fades on the creases area..but after the rain when my jeans was it was damp it felt as stiff hehehe

just soak em!

and again, the longer they touch water, the better contrast they'll get.

i have a friend who finally washed his jeans after 1 year 4 months, they are SJDBT,

though i used to live in sunway for like 4 years,
i have never ever found a guy wearing dry denim on steets (maybe i missed it).

@kayroll: yeah, i really do want LVC 1967 505xx (maybe one day).
but i just really don't think levi's in general has great quality.
just my thirty five point seven cent though......

hi guys, im interested in purchasing my first pair of premium denims but i need to clarify a few things.

for the size, if im a size 32, should i downsize by one or two sizes?

how about aftercare instructions?

i dont usually wear skinny jeans, so what are your guys recommendation? should i downsize more so the jeans can shrink more?

any advise appreciated

thanks

it depends on what jeans and what brand ur going for...make sure if the jeans is either unsanforized or sanforized..sanforized means that the jeans has been treated so when u do ur first wash there wont be much shrinkage...may be 1-3% shrinkage...but if the jeans is unsanforized than there's a chance..well there will absolutely be shrinkage...could shrink up to 2 inches esp in the waist area and the inseam length...

so if u buy jeans with unsanforized denim then u should buy two size up or may be ur actual size...coz certain brands which has unsanforized material, would have, for example, tag size 30 but has actual measurement of 32..then if u are a size 30 then u should follow the tag size coz as u buy unsanforized jeans u might wanna soak it for at least one hour or so in hot water without any detergent or soap etc, before wearing it to let it shrink..the best is if u wear ur jeans and soak u and the jeans together so the jeans will shrink according to ur lower body..alternatively if the jeans has a tag size of 30 and has the actual measurement of 30 as well, which means the jeans has measurement true to tag size, then in this case u should size up at least 2 to compensate for shrinkage

as for sanforized denim u dont have to worry about shrinkage...although there might be a slight chance of shrinkage once u had ur first wash but it will be minimum shrinkage, unlike unsanforized denim. sanforized denim, like i said earlier will have 0 to at least 3% shrinkage only but it will stretch out again once u wear them again. as for sanforized denim, when u buy them u dont have to soak them before wearing. u can wear em straight away. And for sanforized denim u might wanna size down 1 or at least 2, depending on the brand to give in for stretching as certan brand can have stretching, esp in the waist area about 2 inches.

as for care advise..if u buy unsanforized ones, well after u had them soak, take em out, massage away the water, hang em dry. make sure when u take em out from the tub or anything u straight away brush off all the dripping water or water on the denim carefully as these water carries out the indigo of the denim. then hang em dry straight away..may be under a ceiling fan =). then as it dries out go put em on and rock em straight away everyday. alternatively u can do ur own search on google about how to care for ur denim. and as for sanforized ones well..cut off the price tag and wear em straight away!! dont worry about sizing down..u may have trouble buttoning them at first but as u wear em..try to sag them jeans down bit by bit as it will stretch out with the heat from ur body..wear em to sleep if u want too =)..and the rest of it..just wear em, break em, and dont wash them untill u can see all the visible fadings normally after 6 months minimum...

do ote that this only applies to raw dry denim and not pre washes =)

PS...nudie and APC are amongst the brands that produces sanforized denim..the rest like samurais, or evisu are mostly unsanforized...as for evisu..the selvage no1 is the unsanforized one and the rest like no2 or no3 and sanforized..not too sure about no4 though...or no 0.

good luck

thanks alot for that detailed explanation dude... i think i get what you're trying to say already.

for the brands, im gonna get nudie even stevens because im afraid if i buy the skinnies i cant wear.

can recommend different type or is this safer?

and i should probably downsize by 1 right?

even steven would be a good start..where r u planning to order them? lemme let u in for a secret..go get them nudies from this guy in singapore

http://cheapnudie.blogspot.com/

contact him through email or msn as his pricing is lower than those retail price sold in singapore...i buy my nudies via him actually and his is sourcing from cultizm. just mention my name Afiq, his buyer from malaysia, as i think i am is his only malaysian buyer hehehe...payment is done through bank transfer. u can contact him straight away for more info..i reckon u try getting average joe dry selvage size down one or may be 2..or big bent..the best bet is if u can size down 2..if u cant barely button up ur jeans as u get them that is the perfect fit for u..it may be tight at first..and u cant even sag them but as u wear them everyday it will stretch out nicely and u'll get the perfect fit..like me i'm a size30 but i bought my APC in a size 27..down size 3...i have to hold my breath trying to button up the jeans...i received them last wednesday and untill today it has strecthed out fairly and the fit is perfect..(the APC i bought is a new standard which is a more straight-slim cut with slight tapper from the knee down..not a skinny type)

so if u were to get even steven try sizing down 2 as it has lower yoke and such which makes the top area a tad baggy...but its ok to size down 1 in average joe...but i reckon u get the latest fit which is big bent...nice fit =) and do get them size down 2 or if u want u can get a pair of slim jim dry japan...ne of the best fit ever!! and u can ask the nudie seller from singapore for more fit advise...anyways his name is sherwin and u can get hold of him via phone at +6593666707

Added on November 15, 2009, 6:05 pmbut yea..down sizing 2 is ur best bet...=)

Added on November 15, 2009, 6:09 pmand do try to find out if its possible to get big bent in selvage...but the best would be getting either slim jim dry japan size down 1 or2 or average joe dry selvage size down 1 or 2

If u are interested and deal by this week i can letgo for between 500-450..really need to let this pair go..RM450 is a very cheap price for a Brand New Pair of premium 21oz japanese selvage denim!! im offering a premium denim with an affordable price.. but no worries coz we should let the denim material speak for itself...the same material used in the 21oz iron heart...

this fit is somewhat similar to (or perhaps slightly tighter/slimmer then my APC new standard).

COD: sunway, kelana jaya, subang

contact:pm or 0122699085(sms)

This is a picture of it being put next to my one month old APC new standard:

This is an original Levi's Co.pair of jeans. . They were created by the artist Damien Hirst for his signature Andy Warhol Line. . They are a basic pair of Blue Fashion forward Straight leg jeans (like Levis 501 or 501xx) with two front and back pockets.. On the back left pocket there is the printed orange picture of Andy Warhol's Puff logo of Modern Arts and have Andy Warhol's signature. .They are original, .... They retail for USD180.00. Size W28 L34 on the original tag but when we measured it we came up to 30X34. The materials 99% cotton and 1% pulyurethane..
Thank you for Looking smile.gif

Hi alls,

Nice collections you have here. And I'm very proud of you all..congratulation!

And for your information, I do have some collection of my old pre-loved Japanese raw selvedge denim to let go as soon as possible.

They are 1 pair of early production Samurai, 1 pair of early Evisu jeans (Evis), 1 pair of early Denime (from their old Orizzonti era), and 1 pair of Pherrow's (Stormy Blue).

They are all still in very good conditions, since they are being rarely worn. Most of their times are just in wardrobe being nicely keeping.

If you are interested, you can see them in

My Blogstore (www.japanusedclothingbundle.blogspot.com)

or here,

[WTS] Preloved Japanese Raw Selvedge Denim/Jeans, SAMURAI, PHERROW'S, EVIS (EVISU), DENIME

Hey Denim Lovers

There is a factory outlet shop (Jeans N Such) at Wangsa Maju Carrefour, which is nearby the Wangsa Walk Mall, carrying and retailing brands such as Levis, J Crew, The North Face, Guess, Esprit, GAP, etc. - authentic stuff and reasonable prices. Levis jeans (such as 501, 502, 514, etc.) are selling for RM 99 to RM 140, the J Crew jeans selling at RM 49, and Guess jeans at RM 80.

The factory outlet is located at the basement near the entrance from the basement carpark of the Wangsa Maju, Carrefour.
