I believe your service has been cut off by Maxis. smile.gif
Try call to the service center and ask about it.

If you just top up few days ago, then it should not be inactive. call hotlink to reactivate it.
Unless u top up to wrong sim card.

my sister phone also having the same problem 2 days ago. It is because they said the registration is invalid. my advice:
call them now ( i forgot the service centre)
they'll ask u to complete the registration by go to maxis centre.
just refuse to go over there, put the blame on their data entry & ask want to speak with their manager on duty.
after 10 minutes.. walla...

it has to do with the sim chip and if the problem persists, you have to change that sim card to a new one. nod.gif

I am having the same problem too, even though I am not on Hotlink but on Post-paid Maxis line. Called them and the consultant said there is engineer fixing the problem. I am having a "No service/No coverage" problem. The consultant said these problem happens to certain phone numbers only. I guess I am the unlucky one. sad.gif

same here either..i'm a postpaid user. Lucky I have Celcom (probably wanna get all 3 major telecommunication networks later just in case something fails) that i have diverted all my unreachable calls from Maxis to Celcom. If there is any life and death call from my customers, I'm going to kick Maxis in the @$$ tomorrow vmad.gif

Wahhhhhhhhhhh

Ok first. I damn relieved to see this post.

Hahahaha.

I thought my phone got problems!! I'm using a k618i for 6 months dy. Was thinking, tomoro wanna go Lowyat, go back to the shop who sell me, to ask them to mend.

Same lo, after 10 minutes, or even worse, 1 or 2 minutes, will show inactive sim again! Happen the whole day already. Want to cry.. Keep taking the sim in and out, clean the sim, clean the sim detector whatever, also cannot!

Anyway, I read from another source, that this problem can be connected to 3G.

So what I've tried to do is, i go to the connectivity (for Sony Ericsson), select mobile networks, then under GSM/3G networks, you select GSM only... don't select GSM and 3G..

Once you select, from inactive sim, can straight become active again (im using Maxis postpaid)... no need to even restart the phone..then can immediately send sms and call out also. Yay!

This has worked for me so far. For the last 30 mins. Hahaha. Will post again if this fails later.

Hope it helps! And hopefully, maxis will solve the problem fast!! Grrr. Want to make video calls also cannot sad.gif

Btw I think they cheat la, 1 or 2 hours. Whole day already ok! Around 10 hours so far. Hm!

Strange..try again, put in 3G phone, then use only GSM? CAn or not?

Mayb it goes by territory/place.. since seremban can.

Or, just keep calling maxis and disturb them lo biggrin.gif

***edit***

Once I tried to change back to GSM and 3G option again, straight i got the "sim inactive" sign.

So then I changed back to GSM only again.... and then it's working again!

Stupid maxis. Playing with me is it???!!! Grrr

Well bro this is due to the network problem with all the sim cards for HLR 6 so its netwrok problem not your phone or sim so just switch off and on again but i think the engineers fix the problem already la rclxms.gif

Mine too, i've been using my new SE G900 for several days now but suddenly today it displayed "inactive sim"...after i taked out my sim & wiped it out & put it back..i thought i was solved but there's an icon of slashed phone...it says cannot make call...i was unable to make call & send sms...i think it was my sim card coz it is too old like 7 years minimum (it was my dad's first sim card)....huhu...

Added on July 26, 2008, 10:48 pmHey i've just call the 'magic' number our friend gave us here...maxis said it was probably caused by several possible causes :

1. Using old sim card that dont support latest telecommunication services (3g & so on). Maxis advised me to change to 128k sim card that support all current network.

2. Incomplete registration or havent register our mobile number. Maxis will block numbers that havent register.

3. It may caused by all the causes that were stated here in the forum..hehe...

(sorry for my inaccurate english)

Since This topic is about hotlink "inactive sim"

Well my case happen all of a sudden.

I turn off my phone on 07/01/2010 Thursday at about 8.30 because i was attending discussion. It ended about 10.30 and i turned on my maxis (hotlink) and it says "Inactive Sim". I repeated the ordeal of turning on and off the phone and even resorted in changing the sim to another phone and still cannot work

I called Maxis at about 10.45 and enquire whether is there network down or anything wrong with my line. According to them it says the line is active and the balance is still in there.. This is something interesting.

I tried the same thing on Friday (08/01/2009) in the morning by turning on and off. Still to no avail. During my lunch time. I rushed to Maxis centre and got my sim card replaced. I didn't realise anything as everything was normal.

I checked the balance today its left with less than RM 5. Previously before the "inactive sim" incident i still have balance more than RM 100 for my hotlink.

Checked with the hotlink Estatement and during that time my phone experienced the "inactive sim" some RM 100 have been transfered out of my hotlink.

RM 85 to (share a top up) and the rest about RM 12 to download mobile games. Checked with maxis where is the credit transfer to all they said was "our system needs 3 working days to process to check on the amount that have been transfered to"

i'm left hanging as all they could do say is "according to the system, as i am reading from the system"

What is this? Some RM 100 have been transfered out and all they said is according to the system the share a top up have been done through your phone. I asked them how is that possible when my line is inactive? How am i suppose to share a top up with another number when i can't even access to Hotlink.

any advice on where i can go about this and what i can do?

BtW on the 08/01/2010. Maxis checked my line and confirm that it was "inactive sim" when i got my new sim card on the 08/01/2010 (friday afternoon)

Anybody still has problem with this?

I sometimes have the inactive sim problem, and have to resort to restarting the phone.
Is it a phone problem or a network problem?

Hey I've been having this too once in a blue moon. Latest was 2 days ago.
when it happens, I have to shut off phone, take out sim card, blow off some dust(if any), and reinsert. Then it works again suddenly. I'm also not sure whether Maxis prob or my phone prob. rclxub.gif

I've been having this problem too since last week, not sure if it's a phone problem or a network problem.

status can change from MY MAXIS to Inactive SIM intermittently.
