The problem with collecting Tomicas is similar to that of collecting HWs or MB, it is near impossible to find good cars. Like the Civic Type R, so far have not seen it in M'sia. Got ppl here managed to find a few, but I even saw someone with so many of them!! Buat apa keep so many I pun tak tahu

Also have skylines and Toyota passo aka myvi.

Is it Graffiti Toys? it is located Level 5 and next to animetech. Yes, they do sell Tomicas there.

Anyway, our Tomy car selection here is like our REAL car choices. now sudah harga naik, but stuff on offer still so-so only

Type-R I managed to get while in Japan, the monorails of course in Disneyland. I bought it I can remember the price was more than RM 10 after conversion during Dec 2007. But then again, it is a Type-R!! I dun mind paying RM 12.90 AS LONG as the cars on offer are good and nice.

As for the Honda showroom, very nice to getleh, in fact compared to Hot Wheel playsets Tomica playsets are more "life-like" and based on the roads in Japan while for HW its all about CRASHING into each other Tomica even got a toll plaza with a 'smart tag' lane!

Tomica Evo X is the only one that can open the doors!

I bought the Tomica solar turn-table from TRU last weeked to display my tomica. There is a turn-table inside the Honda showroom playset, but it is battery powered and the motor and gears produced quite a loud thurrr.

The turn-table is solar powered, which means any room with sufficient lighting is enough to make it move. Found some at TRU SJ for only RM 39.90, which is very cheap considering it costs 49.90 at the Litt Tak shop and the box looks new. It is also silent.

But it did not work straight out of the box

I had to open it up to see what the problem is and hopefully can repair it.


Open it up and there is a solar collector, a circuit board and the motor connected to the gear box.


In the gears above the motor lies the problem; a piece of the gear (I think the motor assembly) is in the way and is preventing the thing from turning.


After cleaning it up, the gears are free and the turn-table is turning again!!

I know it is expensive, but for Tomica can have a nice box to keep the car after playing and to store. Also it is bought in Singapore though

Oh, the picture show like the door can open, but the actual car the doors cannot open.

Tomica of the day is: Toyota Hiace Multi Purpose car


It is basically the toyota van you see nowadays with police sirens lights and the cherry flower logo at the front instead of the toyota logo.
