Hey. Big or small, we are all collectors alike
In time, your collection will grow and that's one of the best thing about collecting small diecasts, we have the space and capacity for growth. Well we all started with one piece ya know..
You brought up a point that I had give some thought before. Some folks would buy up in a singular telling sweep, for example all the Tomica Limited Editions 0001 to 0100 from one Ebay/Yahoo auction, as they have an extremely generous budget. However does that make him/her a great collector? A great collection maybe and the envy of others perhaps but where has it gone - the fun, the satisfying experience to hunt rares or value-for-money buys and the act of imploring friends and family when they go overseas, and then of course there is the showcasing of your Tomicas with passion and a photo gallery of your collection for memories etc.
In short, I tend to define a collector not by what he has collected but how he collects them.
here's some ENDLESS Tomicas.. literally I mean

very true words, after collecting for a while sometimes you stop to wonder.. wont the person with the most money always win in the end? i, as a student, have a very limited budget as i do not earn my own income. well, your words have kept me motivated Mr Percivale sir, and although my budget is not that big.. it is the passion for collecting these models that will keep me going!
