Hey Sidthesloth, I think you're referring to Rolling Stone's 'Paint it Black' since you said it's about Vietnam War story aired by TV2 in the early 90', I think the title is 'NAM, tour of duty'

try find the name 'Chris Farlowe' I did some search and found out that he's also sang paint it black, maybe his version of the song that you're looking for.

If he's not the one you should try wiki 'paint it black' and there's a list of bands which played the song and from there you probably can find the one that you're looking for.
