QUOTE(supercolossal @ May 5 2008, 03:10 PM) Some guitar techs advise against using fast fret or antyhign else on your strings, apparently they might cause your frets to corrode prematurely. I've actually stopped using fast fret, I just give the strings a good wipedown when I finish playing. some people say lemon only for ebony and rosewook but will be detrimental on Maple. Some say otherwise... So I think the best is till plain ol' damped cloth

QUOTE(supercolossal @ May 8 2008, 01:29 PM) It's just hearsay... but I'm trying to avoid using anything else to extend the life of my guitar strings. That's why I"m switching to elixirs, at least they will last longer without any extra efforts I noticed one bad thing about Elixirs. After 3 months you still got to change it because they won't sound as bright as before. Is it only my ears or the pyschological influence of that hefty price tag

Do you guys know where to buy only the 2nd string for Elixir Nanoweb?
My stupid sister lost the 2nd string and I don't want to waste the rest.
