Since you said actually you want the PS3, get the PS3. It's better to spend your money on something you really want or else you will regret later. The PS3 has lifespan of ten years. This year alone there are many great games coming to it. It's really worth your money. The original games are not a problem. No need to buy many games. Get a few titles that you really really like and that you can play online - that way it's hard to get bored.
