hi all,

does anyone of you works for ambank? i got the 2nd interview days ago and might be hired as a wintel server guy. from wat i heard, the salary is jus so so, mileage is rm0.70/km, and epf is 16%. the benefits i heard is jus normal but at least it was better than my current company. would like to hear others opinion about this....the worklife, future growth, benefits and etc.

at the same time, my client (i am outsourced) knew tat i wanted to resign n asked me to tell him about my unhappiness with my current company which i did told him. he hope tat i could stay with this company, either as permanent (no promises due to headcount) or after my company contract is over, he will insist tat the new outsourcing company to hire me n put me there.

i'm in a dilemma now...ambank or client? happy with client but problem with my company (epf/socso/income tax deducted but not credited to acct, no bonus as promised, hardly approve leave and many other empty promises). hope to hear some ideas....btw, today i've jus lodge a report to epf about my company.

thanks

This being the case, it is possible that even after join AM, the client will still look for you.

Thus this "promise" factor does not weigh much in consideration of the AM offer.

yeah, did think of it too but i enjoyed working there but i would prefer more challenges. he can only promise me that when they move to the new office, he would let me do the avaya voip system and the cisco router/switch, for this he can promise....for others, he cant.

Everyone for its own dude..... u dun wan to just depend on this one client forever rite???

AmBank will definitely be better than ur current comapny. Company deduct tax. epf, etc but doesn't direct to ur a/c?? u better report this matter!!! Its a dam dodgy company... no future for u there... U'll definitely learn more in Ambank, and paid more in later yrs after u have the skills... think long term dude

yeah, tats y i was thinking a lot. i've jus reported to kwsp this morning and for ambank, the interview seems to be easy compare to others although they asked a lot. and they don mind paying as long as i can work for them for at least 3 yrs. i'm jus worried about their work culture, one man show eventhough there are many others.

as for my client, he helped me although it was not his business. he wish to hire me as a perm but the headcount problem. and he knew tat i wish to learn, tats y he promised me tat he will ask the global it to localised some of the things.

it feels like owing him something but thinking of my future with so much of the management problem, i am in the middle now....wait or change

Hi, anymore comments on Ambank?
i heard that Ambank not giving any contractual bonus but performance bonus only. Is this true?
Any staff from Ambank would like to speak this out?

ya ya, have to see majority also. If majority is at least 2 months then quite similar like contractual.
Hopefully Ambank staff can speak out here.

IT Executive? Doing what?
My position is more like quality and compliance as told by interviewer.
Have they call you up for second interview or medical checkup?

Oh wow! Glad to see Ambank staff voice up here.
I think more or less are the same in terms of benefits.
The interviewer told me that mileage is RM1 per KM also. tongue.gif
Then bonus is average 3-4 months at least depends on performance.
So what about yours? how many months of bonus you got?
What about the working environment there? Peace?
hmm.gif hmm.gif

No bonus, commission based now... (used to be bonus based, but recently just changed the policy)

So it is higher basic (than last time) + some allowances and claims (limited, unlike the past where it is unlimited) + commissions

And, no bonus for us (Mortgage Sales) . So mau duit? Rajin sikit lo.

from AM but i'm not from IT though.. from branch (retail banking).

on average for the past few years, i've been getting around 3-4 months.
no mileage claim for us unless sales staff like the personal banker/personal financial executive but there's commission for certain products like credit cards and insurance. smile.gif

Have no idea how the mgnt trainee program in Ambank works. But in general, you go through lots of shit throughout the program.
If you qualify for the graduate program, i guess your result must be pretty good eh?

BTW, no one freaking know what kind of degree you holding. IT? Engineering? Business?

All i can say is, when I joined UOB (mortgage sales, but under the so call 'Management Trainee') and on the very first day the schedule for my training and course has already been printed for me.
When i joined AMbank (also mortgage sales) there weren't any training or course. The nearest thing to it is a so called 'on job training'. But then it doesn't matter since what i do is pretty much the same. But from what i know and heard, AMBank seems to be lacking in their staff's training.

My friend in UOB has all sort of trainings/talks/workshop every month or so .. the nearest thing i have is some lame product briefing which pretty much has nothing to do with my job.

I have no freaking idea on how to comment on your question. You said 2.8k. Any other allowances?
Allocated in Business Banking as? Doing IT there? Doing Sales? Support? What you prefer? Asking IT nerd to do sales? Or asking a IT idiot to do IT support?

You tarak kasik orang tau apa apa, mana orang boleh tolong you....
As what my boss always say, if you don't farkking help yourself, how people going to help you

Guess so, bank doesn't care if you are holding an EE degree or a Business degree .... they just wanna know that you wasted 4 years to get a degree

Ya, i would like to know tht also.
Besides that, I got to know that Ambank staff need to give 3 months notice period on resignation. Is that true?
What about other benefits like increment percentage annually especially for IT deparment?
Many thanks! icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

I used to worked at AmBank HQ for IT department almost 4 years. But currently i already moved to other company. Yes u need 3 month notice period for resignation, luckily my new company can wait for 2 month.

Ambank IT staff is so so big in size, i think more than 600 all over Malaysia. Annual increment is average 6 - 7% only and bonus 3 month.

not convenient to tell la....but i'm on the infra side. programmers? i havent find any 'programmers' here.....most have the title but i'm not sure if they knew how to write a code or not. most with those titles are jus application support....while the codings are done by vendors. trust me, i see more vendors coming in than the so-called 'programmers'.

lol thumbup.gif u r right about the vendor thing. last time i work as a vendor(csc) for the ambank n other banks. but for sure, i like the ambank it guys the most, especially those that are working at lvl 19, YKS as they are friendly and helpful. but as i can see, the working life for the ambank it staffs is quite scary..heavy loads of work and then have to see the damn staffs face especially those from the higher lvl one (kena bullet kao kao) They are always right n the IT guys are on the wrong side cry.gif . i just moved to a better company 3 mths ago and now i'm really enjoying my working life brows.gif

p/s: pass my best regards to chan, leong, khairul nizam and mr callan notworthy.gif

Well, I had attended my 2nd interview & it looks promising as the HR is finalizing my offer letter. Position offered as 'Implementation Specialist' a more direct job scope & role as explained ...
All interviews conducted on the same day .. 1st from the Hiring Manager & 2nd from HR; last until bout 4 Hrs + the questionnaires & etc..

Jst wondering if anyone has any experiences/ or the working life culture to share workin' in the AmBank. My location based will be at KL..

Implementation Specialist? Which division/department will you be attached to?

You will be based in YKS, Raja Chulan or Sultan Ismail?
