Did'nt I posted that price already? NZD1129 = RM2787. How is that ripping off customers? Your Optus AUD929 (RM2914) is more expensive than that Vodafone NZ price! Australia and New Zealand dont share a currency, brader! Now you better check it again and I'm pretty sure YOU will be surprised!

Does a phone plan matter in this case? You are getting outright no-contract phone, so the point is moot. The most relevant issue here is what is total amount to pay that people like me and most of others here in this forum, who have ZERO intention whatsoever in getting onto a plan, and only interested to get the iPhone only.

Who gives a *bleep* how much Vodafone or *insert company* charge you on a plan, I just want the iPhone to use back home. You yourself only cared about getting out of Optus's own plan by adding that AUD80 into the final figure on the first page,and I quote:-

DO the math and for getting the iPhone OUT of a plan, with no contract, like i posted before, it is much cheaper to get it from Vodafone NZ than Optus AU, NZD1129 VERSUS AUD929. Not all big numbers translate to "being more expensive", with the Malaysian Ringgit being much more competitive against NZD than AUD.

Next time, please bring more relevancy to the table rather than simply adding "price of plan in NZ is so much more expensive than Aus". Most if not all of us here are not interested on getting shacked by a contract plan OR using the iPhone at the place of purchase on that contracted telco, we're only interested on getting the iPhone as cheap as possible OUTSIDE a contract.

You seem very out of touch with the general consensus here in this section of the forum.

1. We are all either from Malaysia, or outside of the country that we plan to purchase the iPhone from, so whatever telco that have the most affordable plan means JACK SHIT to us, since we are not going to use the iPhone with that said plan in that country we are getting it from, we are getting the iPhone and planning to use it OUTSIDE the country we get it from. In this case, I repeat again, WHO GIVES A RAT'S ASS whether Vodafone NZ or your precious Optus AUS or whatever telco you wanna add here, gives the cheapest rate, all we care about is which telco gives the cheapest NO-CONTRACT iPhone, be it prepaid or outright unlocked! Hell, if AT&T has a presence in NZ and offers a no-contract iPhone that is cheaper than Vodafone NZ, I jump on that opportunity right away.

2. Nobody cares about whether Optus AUS having cheaper plan than Vodafone NZ, or if Vodafone NZ has lowered its rates after its customers whining, etc. All we care about is which telco offers NO-CONTRACT iPhone for us to use back home in Malaysia, or wherever "home" is.Your main argument was about you pointing out that your Optus AUS having cheaper plan compared to Vodafone NZ, but since the only thing that we care about here is which telco gives a NO-CONTRACT iPhone the cheapest, in this sense, your Optus AUS is still more expensive than Vodafone NZ, AUD929 compared to NZD1129. Nobody here cares about who gives the cheapest plan since....guess what? Nobody wants to subscribe to the plans because EVERYBODY IS PLANNING TO GET THE IPHONE FOR USAGE IN MALAYSIA, NOT IN AUSTRALIA OR NEW ZEALAND! How much clearer do you want me to get?

Not a lot of folks here have the option like I do, since I fly to both places, and other options of getting from Europe, Hong Kong or even the US. All I'm saying here is , for a NO-CONTRACT 3G iPhone, between your Optus AUS(AUD929) and Vodafone NZ(NZD1129), the numbers speaks for themselves, Vodafone NZ  is cheaper. I dont give a damn about Vodafone NZ or Optus AUS, they can rot in hell for all I care, all that matters to me is I get the 3G iPhone without contract THE CHEAPEST! Get it!?

Let me lay this down clearer to you. I am from Malaysia, and I spend most of my time in Malaysia and the US. I DONT GIVE TWO SHITS ABOUT VODAFONE NZ OR YOUR PRECIOUS OPTUS AUS! The only thing I care is about using the 3G iPhone back in KL and Newport, without the need of subscribing to a plan.

The glossy black back smudges easily and shows up fingerprints and smudges glaringly. Consider this if u want to pick up the black version. The white is less obvious, but the best is still the old silver back. I guess this peeve of mine will disappear over time.

I know that Optus don't sell out-of-contract iPhones anymore. What other options do i have if I wanna get one from Aussie? Of course i need it to be unlocked as well.
