Apps from appstore u can retrieve back but 3rd party apps from Cydia/Installer will be lost. iTunes wont backup those as its not part of iPhone.

That one from AppStore of Cydia/Installer? If from AppStore, once you restore from backup then u'll get it back.

Hey man ... just realize U PM'ed me about this. I didn't notice it earlier. Sorry for that.

For your info, if you have Cydia then u already have the BSD subsystem but its not called that. In cydia, BSD is known as telesphoreo. Its more advanced and stable compared to the old BSD.

I've looked into it and looks like Cydia or telesphoreo do have the dd utilities. Hope that help you.

Sorry again for the late reply.

I believe my iphone has already gone into dfu mode. The phone itself shows the ready to restore image. Not sure I have to click the check button. When I cancelled the message, itunes cannot detect my phone and thus i can't restore it. Please help.

Upgrade your itunesto v8 as itunes below v7.5 does not compatible with fw1.1.4 and above. Looking from the pic, you are using an old version itunes.

Shoot, I just broke my silent vows from posting here. Well feeling a bit helpful this morning. Gonna fly tonight to the land of hornbills tonight. whistling.gif

If u have Cydia installed then u don't need BSD subsystem anymore. Do u have OpenSSh installed in your phone to begin with?

Mplayer still have a long way to go. The video's choppy and the UI kinda confusing. I've been waiting for VLC4iphone since 4eva, that zodttd is taking his sweet time. Mplayer is a good try but the dev need to polished it more before releasing it.

Just my 2 cents.

Just found my new best friend .... dtunes. biggrin.gif
