When you set the view of the onboard FOV and height, if you want full realism this is the basic guidelines for you. Anything less than this would render the cockpit position unrealistic. Do you agree? and your opinion please.

The hot topic for debate in the sim is whether arms and wheels add to realism or not? My view of it is that, I would like to immerse in the display, so having arms and wheels in the game is realistic than having none of it. It depends, if I have the correct scale monitor and a 3d representation of it is realistic, I would like to have wheel and arms off. But since the peripheral is lacking, I dig myself into the monitor. Hence my setup from wheel to monitor is very very close.

But people who would like to immerse outside the display don't want a visible wheel and arm complaining that they would like to see their real arms and their real wheels only. Which is also correct. To each his own. Your opinion guys.

This MSR BMW lapped almost at par with those PCC. What are the benchmark times we are looking at? 2.04 race pace? with a 2.03 qualifying?

Sebring is one of my favorite, every lap feels great, particularly the flowing section before the last back straight corner.

Race pace 2.04 is possible i think....managed a low 2.05 on unoptimmised tires...still havent found much balance yet. But ure rite about the flow of the track....especially the high curbs approaching the back straights...and the bumpy last and first turn....interesting suspension mission there...

Or is it a concocted move to provide excuse for not attending race again?

9.17pm, off the game, check the pedal with profiler, service pedal, on profiler make sure pedal work correctly, on rF at 10.03pm and testing offline.
At 10.58pm, join MSR server and before start testing, inform other drivers bout my situation.

I must extend my apologies to bro ronmd, I overstep the limit, I thought he is going to floor it. Sorry bro.

Race marshal pls investigate the incidents. I can't judge myself.

Sebring consumes fuel like no other tracks since huge percentage was spent on full throttle. So I was short two laps of fuel. Try to slow down like mad to save fuel and hold mara, but while trying to hold him, I have to speed up and hence burn a lot of fuel.

i watched the fights - up front, and the second pack was so intense
u were leading mara over 15s, then down to 5s, suddenly mara was on ur tail, and last minute pitstop
i think dzariq suffered from his strategy as well

petronas motorsport nak kena ban nih  vmad.gif - hitting man o steel car at the end of the straight - madnoren limping to finish the race without front bumper
*
Very intense, I thought dzariq was on the same strategy, hence my drive was on maximum defensive, so more tyre wear and I can't reproduce my practise pace. The front seems to hot to my liking. I understeered a lot into corners. Dzariq was everywhere, we touch but it's okay since I don't end up hitting any walls whatsoever. If I know dzariq is on a two stopper, I would be a bit more conservative with my pace. If I had slowed a little bit more I would have saved fuel enough to take me to finish.

Then there is mara, honestly, I have a lot of pace in that car so I wasn't struggling for pace, I can afford to shift a lot earlier even and still had the pace. But mara was destined to win this. He has good strategy but not starting on front row cost him dearly in the early stint.

i was on 2 stop strategy..and i was destined to 2nd place ..suddenly got DC at the last corner.. vmad.gif
i was a bit aggressive in this race..sorry to pccrazy and pitt for the wild move..im a bit frustrated with my setup..as i should have been doing consistent 2.04.xx with my light fuel..but im struggling to have the pace i want..
*
Great race man. You give me tough time. Looking forward to the next race.

The fastest way through a braking zone is with no automatic engine braking; this makes the braking distance shorter as the rear wheels are not being driven forward by the engine at all, which would make the front brakes work harder to slow down the vehicle in the same distance. But, as Andrew and Steve pointed out, this can be very tricky to do as you the driver must manually feed in a little bit of throttle as speed deteriorates, because the less speed you're traveling at, the less aero download is being applied to the rear wheels, and therefore the greater chance the rear wheels have of locking during a braking effort.

This means auto engine braking is really only an effective (or necessary) assister in mid-to-slow speed corners where the wings aren't working at their optimum.

Correct dzariq...

No wonder I find that 0 value has farther braking travel distance....

Congrats to the winners. Mara congrats on the domination of BMW this season.

I was too slow and the formation lap incident render my race over, with confusion over pit lights i was dq. So that was the end of it. A rookie race I need to forget. I know that less track time would amount for a disaster in the race.

aiyo last night 50/50 to join the race not enuff track time.  disaster in formation lap, i clipped something and spun - i went too much to the left to give space to somebody to regain his place - dun remember which car.

congrats to the winner

i think im getting really good at giving way to front runners lappin me lol

It's me. I have to overtake you since the grid is small otherwise it will be problem for me to place my car on the grid.

Oh, btw. Can we have a system where there is no overtaking allowed in the formation lap and you have to maintain position of which you get in the qualifying. I qualified 7th, immediately being overtook at the start by no 8 and others were overtaking me as well. It should not be happening as this will create mass collision.

To shah15, grow up and get away. You make MSR sick. And btw you are never an expert at making(concocting) stories. Because with each stories there are lots of contradiction here and there. I have every doubts you will make a successful person in real life both as professional and more importantly as a Muslim.

Champ cars? With street tracks? I have to test the mod to give comments. Frankly the F1 mod of MMG inst that good either in terms driving pleasure.

Last time during version 1.0 the champ mod was fun, it was like driving a something heavier than F1 in an open wheeler. Once I tested the mod I will give my verdict. I believe this suggestion comes from Madnoren, mostly if not all, his taste of mods suits mine perfectly. So I hope I'm right.

Will not take part at Mugello, I'm off to Terengganu.

Speak of the devil u crazy PCcrazy....where have u been? Secrete testing again? tongue.gif

Phew....just got back from mills...Wut can i say....champcar is great to drive out of the box....the sound clicks (only cockpit, not much of the exterior sound). The ride is awesome...amount of grip is tremendous. Special mention abt the FFB....at the upgrade menu, there is a low, med, high and guess wut...REALFEEL upgrade! this is good for realfeel users. Tweak the maxsteerforce to negative and I took it for a spin and i was in heaven...i was using the momo knob tho...feel like a junior 1990 F1 class lol...minus the cross arm (its not g25).

Default setting is raceable i think......not much struggle with it. Mills which is known for its nasty bumps around its 1st and 2nd sector is almost non-existent tho...probably because of the presence of the third rear spring perhaps...plus the huge rear SLICK tyres (yay) and smaller front tyres will give some interesting challenge setting up the car soon.

Max rev is 12,500 (in garage) but on track u can somehow get into the 13k rpm easy (with max boost of 2).....but even with max radioator (5) it seems like with proper care,  it can take u around the lap only twice before the engine took off to orbit.

Super...

Is it? Wow you sound optimistic about the mod. I think perhaps this is the best mod for us after all. It wouldn't be in HOF for no reasons right?

looks like if I like the mod, I will start campaigning for votes.... tongue.gif Put those who oppose me in ISA detention at Kamunting or make allegations against them have them caught under seditions.

A litlle bit more to finish dloading......

FSONE hotlapping around spa GTR2 conversion put a smile on my face....thats the only time a mod in rfactor did that to me...

I cant 'feel' MMG cars too much really.

Added on May 7, 2008, 2:53 amISA??? err....ok vote for PC! LOL

Let me put several mods that I have time to test that brings smiles on my face....

1. FSone ( Although many hated it, it's a great mod to drive by feel)
2. Porsche Carrera Cup 2007 (It has one of the best tactile feedback to steering wheel)
3. Fabcar.
4. BMW Sauber F1 2007 by ISI. ( Hopefully the next CTDP would follow precisely this successful physics feel)
5. Skoda Octavia (It was a slow car but quite a fun car nevertheless, the latest version has manage to reposition wrong suspension geometry-as a result realfeel works flawlessly now)

There are many mods like Caterham and etc but havent got that much time to test....

Hmm, this BMW mod this season honestly was one of the crappiest mod I drive, cmon tell me who picked this mod, let me give you a scolding....lol jking biggrin.gif

Anyway the only flaw with this BMW is that it doesn't work with realfeel, thats all. Other than that it's a decent car to drive.

I'm very picky about mods to be honest, at least I said it aloud and still participate in the races.

Boss yang kaya, hmm I tested the mod, my initial impression was the mod has improved by leaps and bounds.

But to be fair to those who like a F1 car, I think I'd rather go through votes. I can sense the discontent on this board.

Bring up MSR parliament, I'm with Madnoren's team.

Ooops, I tought the server is running Champcar, No wonder I couldn't find it.

Hmm, since the title already decided I figure there could be a decline in attendance and adrenaline in the last race.

My mood already switches to Champ Car, I will race Misano however just to have fun.
