Maybe when your hamster run the wheel and you are in your dreamland?

You can buy a tank instead of those nice looking but very small cage.

It's not troublesome when you wanna interact with your hamster by playing with them or bring them out, or else how are you going to tame your hamster? You need to play with them or touch them everyday. Btw, what kind of hamster you having?

  I think your cage is way too small for 5 of them la. You are lucky that they are not fighting. I'm having Syrians that's why I separated them all into at least a 2ft X 1ft X 1.5ft plastic fish tank (wonder my estimated measurements are correct), and I do have a 3ft X 2ft X 2ft tank for a single Syrian. Total 5 tanks at home now + an unused Habitrail Safari cage.


Maybe you wanna ask those WW expert to give you some opinions here but as I know WW is also solitary. And if you continue to put the male and the female together, they'll breed again and again and lead to uncontrollable breeding situation and you gonna have more troubles by then.

not enough dude, certainly not enough.. for babies, yes.. for 5 grown ups, impossible.. even now there's already signs of intimidation within ur hamsters..

start by separating the hamsters that makes noises to each other.. dun delay separation just becos of ur financial dificulties, u should have thought of this earlier on, before breeding them.. that's the problem of breeding solitary hamsters & few ppl are realizing that..

Hamsters are escape artists. Never underestimate the intelligence of rodents. Before I changed the lid, there were a few times when my family will wake me up at 6 am, yelling to me, "I saw your hamster running in the living room!". It really scared me silly cuz I was afraid they ran out the door. There was one time Yuu ran out and I couldn't find it for 2 days. I thought it escaped already but found it 2 days later trying to climb on the table to get to the tank.  I think it got hungry. Lucky it didn't escape.  Kept checking the tank for holes but could't find any. Found them pushing the lid a few days after that. I never would have believed it if I didn't see it myself.

Then I took out the wheel to DIY a new lid for them.  Feel like wanna pengsan when I saw them climb the plastic block house. It wasn't tall enough to aid their escape.  Then I saw Fat Fat step on Yuu and started jumping jumping to reach the lid.  Had to remove every tall structure in their tank to prevent their escape until their new lid was done.

why don't you take a picture of it? since when it's swollen? any changes in her behaviour or anything?

My female hamster has this bubble-like pus-filled bubble at her genitals. Any idea what this is?
