This year's Tokyo Auto Salon 2010 with NAPAC, held Friday January 15 through Sunday January 17 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba prefecture, is one of the largest car shows in the world with over 600 beautiful cars, 300 exhibitors, and exhibition runs by D1 Grand Prix drift racers. Gran Turismo is also making an appearance with its own dedicated booth.

Visitors to the Gran Turismo booth can take a guided tour, enjoy the latest videos for Gran Turismo 5 and a documentary about Gran Turismo Academy, and even try their driving skills on special demo stations featuring the Gran Turismo 5 Time Trial Challenge (available for download on PlayStation Network through January 25, 2010). Also in the booth is a real version of the Nissan Fairlady Z (370Z) that appears in theTime Trial Challenge.

Elsewhere, Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi is speaking at Toyota's booth about a new collaboration between Gran Turismo and Toyota. Presentations are scheduled for Friday at 3 PM and Saturday at 5 PM.

Additionally, pro driver Juichi Wakisaka will be at the Toyota booth on Sunday, the final day of the event, for a panel discussion, and will be taking challengers in a special face-off competition using a special demo ofGran Turismo 5

aaanyways, the demo convinced me to get a driving force GT. My first racing wheel ever. Snatched the last one in GH yesterday.

First impressions? All my DS3 skills for racing can be thrown out the window. GRiD suddenly felt like a new game again, even more so considering I was driving in third person view before the wheel. Driving in first person with the wheel can really get your adrenaline pumping! Gila I tell you! Once I get used to the wheel I'll try to improve my pathetic 1'58" on stock for the demo. 

So, aaron. Finally decided to get a DFGT huh?

Yeah throttle control. Look at your throttle input to make sure you're doing it right.

Wheel steers itself because of force feedback from your wheel and it means you're losing grip. Don't turn it off as it's very useful. With this car it's very hard to correct oversteer. You need to detect very early when your car is losing grip and then countersteer as fast as possible.

Using ds3 is easier coz the input is 1, 0 and -1 so you just have to press left or right to get to the end of the other side. With steering it has a range from -1 to 1 (0.2, 0.3 etc) so need to turn a more than using ds3

Guys, during the first corner after the long straight track, when is the best time to start braking? Is it 100m or 50m before the corner?

I can only get around 1:53 at best using DS3 for the Tuned 370Z hehehe.

why don't you race with us at MSR then? Its still gonna be a few more months until GT5 full comes out

Err..i didn't use the racing line. I turn it off. hehehe!
