Ok.. the trick is... the icons does not mean 100% you'll get in.. it's either someone is racing... and by the time you connect, there was noone else connecting.
Just let it run by itself,,, eventually you'll get in. Get errror, connect again.
A good cue is, after the "X" button disappeared from the screen... have a look at your line connection, if it stopped blinking, means you will definately not get in.. if it keeps on blinking like crazy.. means, you'll be in.

wah if like this then their multiplayer is very damn poor lah...Just let it run by itself,,, eventually you'll get in. Get errror, connect again.

i dont know if this is their marketing strategy...but from what i can think of is , since prologue is a damn short game ( a demo anyway ) means they need to emphasize the multiplayer functionality as it will keep people playing...
why dont they make a live chat like dota with players queueing.. perfomanec points, collision points/penalty points whatever u call it so people would know with whom they are dealing with, or for players to be more clean at racing... who would want to play with someone who had like 1000 penalty points (if its going to be implemented)
or since hosting private game isnt possible for the time being, implement the penalty points and rooms that has:-
630 performance points, less than 200 penalty points only can join the room (something like this)
