@Acquiesce,
I just tested the i3GS without the charger.  There's no 'whee whee' sound ! WOoHoOoO..... onli it's not possible NOT to charge the phone if the phone batt is dead but well at least we know now; we could always listen to something else when the phone's charging biggrin.gif

@tinks,
Next step, let's check using an iPod see it gives the same problem - see if it's ok.

Then, try replacing the USB cable - see if its ok

if the problem still there then i think its the cigarette charger (head connector)

Alternatively - you could try getting a 'compatible' charger and try! sweat.gif

@avars,
Er.. quality is not 100% great.  On the i3G I had off-on "noise" which can get v irritating but with the i3GS it seems to have disappeared; unless of course a call's coming in then sometimes I do get the noise effect.

I have however noticed a "new" problem which is some "whee whee" sound [friends tell me it's like the sound U get when ur on an aeroplane] when I accelerate *sigh*  We've troubleshoot the problem down to the AUX cable but can't figure out the solutions as yet tongue.gif

The whee whee sound looks like an impedance mismatch problem. Cause you're using your 3G/S to drive the aux input and the cable use creates a different network impedance (resultant). Coupled with the charging where it'll give out electrical problems. You see, your alternator creates EM and if not filtered through the line, it'll get into your iPhone's DAC and then to your HU. Thats why some accessories are rated to be used with iPhone cause they are shielded and won't bring in interferences from its radios. The Touch don't have this problem as their radio for WIFI (2.4GHz doesn't affect your HU or other units).

Yeah looks like we'll have to test with an iPod but problem is I don't have an iPod.. nm I'll figure it out; will also test with the other iPhones we have tongue.gif
