What is your opinion on opening a cyber cafe? Is it high capital with high return and high risk? Or Is it low return? Pls do comment about it. Any1 who opened a cyber cafe or have done so before I would really like to hear your valueable opinion.

lolz the trend nowadays usually the ppl go there for the lan connection so that a group of friends can hang out and play together. Not really due to the internet connection =.= but that certainly is a plus for the business

So I think provided you have a good targeted market (near school or university) you should be able to survive kua... But heard the license is not easy to get right?

Well I think business is there la. Look at SS15

Mostly students and college ppl are main customers.
With more and more games coming up I guess its still a market for it.

The thing you need to consider is whether its profitable or not cause you have to put in heavy investment to compete with existing cafe's. Else you got no egde. So the ROI is not that quick as you wish.

You need to think through and calculate and see whether its worth your investment or not.

For some cafe's the profit comes in after 2-3 yrs. So think about it carefully

#1, location.

#2, good hardward supplier relationship

#3, channels to resell your old hardwares

#4, connection with ganster and polis

with all the above, cybercafe is still a sure win biz.

I think you should be able to make good money if:

1) you are in an area with a good customer base like eg. someone mentioned schools/colleges.

2) you have the attraction factor - like good games.

Locally and overseas, the cafes that are packed always seem to be packed with people playing games. If you can get those people to spend an hour (or two or three or five) at your cafe, you can't do too badly.

Yeah...the capital is high! But once you manage to collect RM300 and above....each day! Then it is alright!

Well, the magic Rm300 will end you up with Around RM9000 a month of gross income!
But if your premise rental, your staff salary, electricity, maintenance, etc etc Around 6k...
Then you will be alrights

If you charge your customer RM2 an hour...to get Rm300 a day, you need to get 150Hour of computer usage!

This is a simplistic calculation....you can actually add other services to increase your overall income!

[you can take my word, i been in this business before]

------------------------------------
oN The other hand, a guy selling kuey teow can sell 100 plates each day [a true example]
Each plate cost about Rm5..

His average gross income is around RM500 a day..(Rm15000 monthly)

His monthly Gross is much better compared to the Cyber cafe example above...with a very minimal initial capital!

a cc with 90 pc can earn up to RM3.5k daily
ROI is about 9 months if fast . . . while if it's slow it will take about a year or little more

CC license is belong to entertainment license (correct me if i'm wrong), so it'll be hard to get and i heard at certain area, gov not releasing the license anymore.

Do anyone know the details of
The Game License. How much is it cost roughly?
just list the famous LAN game.

I plan to open a cc also someday, but have no idea of the price of all the license.. so it's kind of hard to budget

first you have to have the original windows . . .
for games you will need to pay the game license
to seni mutiara ( warcraft, counterstrike, red alert & etc)
ea sports ( fifa,need for speed & etc )
and some others . . . . .
