QUOTE(kancheong @ Jun 4 2008, 10:23 AM) thanks manchild tried that but the picture quality suffers a bit. azbro why do you say 42" not big enuf ? its the aspect ratio/how the film was mastered so even if i have a 50" the 2 black strips will still appear, no? u are right. It doesn't matter if the TV is 42 or 50 inches, it is how the film was mastered. Black bars will still appear on 50 inch sets.

I got a free microwave after buying a fridge last time at sen heng. Unfortunately I opened it 2 months after I bought it and found it kemek. I took it back to the shop and they said they wouldn't replace it cause it's a free item and it's already been a few months. I made a lot of noise including I'll never buy from them again and I'll report it to the newspapers. They replaced it immediately after that.

I have the PV80 and to me the picture is very good in both DVD and astro. I haven't tried it with BD yet. But I wouldn't mind getting the PG60 also since I've seen the picture quality and it's good too.
So I don't think you'll go wrong with either purchase.

QUOTE(ronnt88 @ Jul 30 2008, 04:28 PM) What if we feed the astro signal through an AV Receiver capable of upscaling to 1080p?? Will this improve the pic quality on the LCDs ?? Thanks.. What..what..what? I don't think that is possible..

QUOTE(99below0 @ Jul 31 2008, 03:16 PM) I've tried upscaling Astro to 1080p through a Philips DVDR3600 (the new recorder). It was worse than letting my PV80 upscale itself. While the detail was only marginally better, compression artifacts were far more obvious, making the overall picture worse. I guess you can't polish a turd. True that..if u polish turds it'll just smudge more..didn't know pv80 can upscale..where's the remote function for this coz I also hv the pv80.. QUOTE(SynHeng @ Jul 31 2008, 03:24 PM) First time user here. Currently using Sony 32V400A with NS708. But from my eyes (maybe newbie), there is no different between 1080p and 720p. Is that normal? It is normal..i think it's more discernible with the larger screens and your viewing distance...

QUOTE(wcyly @ Aug 4 2008, 10:35 AM) Which shop offered RM4,099 for the PV80? I'm looking for one. Thanks. Why don't u try some of our forumers here who sell pana products. If u read a couple of posts back u can see some of the forumers here who sell the pana products in their signature. I bought mine from them and the service is excellent.

I have a question here. Hope u guys can help out.
My pv80h is hd ready means it can accept 1080p signals and will display it in it's native resolution which is 720p I think. I'm looking for a htib (home theatre-in-box) and I've narrowed it down to JVC's TH-D7 or panasonic's SC-PT565. JVC's htib will upscale to 1080i while the panny will upscale to 1080p. Since my native display reso is 720p, do I really need a htib that can upscale to 1080p or is the 1080i upscale enough?

QUOTE(ainnolj @ Aug 13 2008, 10:54 AM) i just bought LG PG60 mmm from Adrian(thanks bro) and just 2 days still blajar how to set this TV. for astro viewing as aspected but still considerable as good. DVD viewing mmm still study anyone here have the same model so i can learn frm? Check out this review of the PG6000 which is the equivalent to PG60 here: http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/LG-42PG6000/The main difference is in the UK they have additional scart inputs at the back. It is a very nice TV when I saw it at Best Denki the other day. I especially like the 50 inch model. Gorgeous! Unfortunately, the review doesn't tell u the settings for best picture unlike the review for the PX80 which is the PV80 equivalent here. Can u tell me how much u got it for? I'm interested in getting one.

I have the panny plasma and to me plasma screen is much more resistant to burn-in now and the reflection is also much less than before. However, my tnb bill shows about RM30 increase since I got the TV. I'm not sure about LCDs though. Someone needs to do a comparison.
