any comments on LG plasma(new model) ? how it is compare witth panny ?
*
if u concern more on the input features, u go for LGPG60

and if u concern more on the picture quality standard, u go for panny PV80.

easy decision making, there is no in-between option.

I found samsung LA46A650 rm7800 cash price ... Ok? Going to pay deposit by tomorrow

Bracket rm220 + installation rm180

Any comment??

well,

if i were you, i would rather invest my money into panny 42PY800 or 50PY800.

for the purchase of 42PY800, i still have RM1k extra money for investing another gadget.

and i only add on another RM1k to get 50" bigger tv screen to enjoy even better motion movie.

actually u focus on the "FULL HD LCD sticker" or the picture quality?

paying RM7800 for a 46" LCD TV and to watch poor astro signal (i believe 60% of your watching program), i dont think is a worth of money. u will cry if u notice how poor the astro result is on the screen.

if people are to say that astro will improve the signal, and so LCD tv will be better. by that time, plasma tv can even display out higher and better picture result since now plasma tv is better than LCD tv on astro channel.

apparently, the 'war' of 46A550 vs 42PV80 really brings so much of arguments.

it seems that PV80 has lower grade panel than A550 which is full HD panel.

and i have these 2 models on display side-by-side, direct comparison.

many customers expect that A550 surely is a winner (before i switch on PV80 and A650) due to the marketing sticker as it looks so cool. (both TVs at original setting, no cheating)

however, the moment i play the full HD format video clip, the customers start to notice the kecacatan of A550 in term of the colour. movement, and brightness compared to PV80.

after showing the astro channel and video clips to customers, 10 out of 10 customers go for PV80 or PY800 series.

and those who desire to get a full HD tv (donno LCD or Plasma decision), after they see how PV80 performs better than A550, even though PY800 is not placed next to A550, they have no hesitate to confirm PY800 model.

this is the customer case in my shop.

according to the latest GfK report, Panasonic Malaysia 'sapu' 60% of the Plasma TV market.

the remaining 40% consists of Pioneer, Samsung, LG and Hitachi

Just asked at HN Pavillion.

LG 42PG60UR ==> RM4299 + 2yr warranty + DVDP + digi clock + Monster screen cleaning kit
Pana 42PV80  ==> RM4299 + 5yr warranty + HDMI cable + s-video cable

Which one better?
Regards.

LG is selling features.

Panny is selling Picture.

it is your decision to choose between them.

I have seen a few LCD TV in my relative houses and I was like OMG, What did you just bought in my mind...

LOL...

I hate to say this but some LCD TVs out there have worse coloration than my 20" Dell S-IPS panel. We need to educate people on buying LCD really.
*
bro,

as a matter of fact, there are so many people tend to buy LCD tv more than plasma tv.

they claim that LCD tv is so good, so clear, so sharp, etc...

in order to close a LCD tv deal, we spend 15mins.

however, we need an hour to educate the buyer how good is plasma tv and how it differ from LCD tv.

somehow, after an hour education session, buyers still want to go back to 'consider' first.

LCD tv is cheap for the size of 32" or 37".

for the size 40" and above, LCD tv seems to have similar price to plasma tv.

if the LZ800 stock is in the market, why people still want to WAIT after paying the deposits.

market got 5 units of 37LZ800, each of them display at each Best Denki outlet.

if got stock, people should be able to watch it at home already and take some photos of LZ800 to show us here.

sharing the experience mah! rclxms.gif

Why we must get from authorised dealer?
What if legend sourced from authorised dealer directly or indirectly?

Anyway, authorised dealer is not the concern.
What concerns is the 5 years warranty. The most important is, Panasonic recognise the warranty.

So, IMO, I think buyer should always check with both shop & Panasonic on the validity of warranty.
Authorised dealer or not, is not an issue.
*
bro,

u just make a purchase of panasonic product and have their company chop on the warranty card.

after that u tell us what 'special treatment' you will receive from panasonic malaysia.

the sources are from authorised dealers but customers are dealing with L-shop.

customers are not having authorised dealer punya receipt but L-shop punya receipt.

unfilled warranty card + L-shop punya receipt = no warranty (check yourself at panasonic customer care center Shah alam)

L-shop or not L-shop, it is buyers punya issue.

*
no need to compare between 42PV80 and 40A550 la fren, 1 is with fancy term, 1 is with quality term.

anyhow, u just drop by any shop where they can provide you side-by-side comparison between these 2 models then only u know what brand u gonna choose. hmm.gif

electrical stores do have both of 'em but they (HV, Best Denki etc.) hardly run Astro on 'em. i'm on Astro 80% of the time. initially, planning to get the 42PV80H as its known for awesome Astro viewing but Sammy's LA40A550 Full HD feature kinda made me in dilemma now.  blink.gif

p/s : Pana 42PV80H has glossy frame like the Sammy's?
*
mass merchandise stores hardly run Astro prog in their stores because they wanto display the best video clips on the plasma or LCD tv so that can make customers feel good on the tv.

after purchase been made, nice or not nice PQ is not their matter anymore.

from my observation, many people buy samsung full hd LCD tv not for the PQ but the full HD name.

it is better for you to see both of them side-by-side on astro, on gaming especially winning eleven, and green field scene. you will know whether sammy full HD is really that good or not. hmm.gif

went to Best Denki just now and did some comparison on 42PV80H and Sammy LA40A550. didn't get to test Astro on it but did get to test DVD viewing.

obviously, the first thing that makes the difference is the looks of the Sammy. the gloss frame makes it look more elegant and stylish against the to me, more dull-looking Panny.

PQ wise, somehow Sammy's screen is much brighter and subtitles wordings are sharper. color reproduction seems natural and almost the same for both.

that's what i've noticed so far, as i'm not a professional AV enthusiast. brought some friends there & most of 'em said that the Sammy is better. but still couldn't make up my mind yet as haven't really tested out PQ on Astro.

price for 42PV80H is RM4999 with free DVD player and Digicam + 5 years warranty. didn't ask for discount yet.

while price for Sammy LA40A550 is RM4699 after soft-nego. 1 year warranty and no free gifts.

gonna try to check out the prices at other stores soon. smile.gif

questions :

1. the salesman keep insisting that the PQ of Sammy will be much better on Astro after using the S-video cable. does S-video cable makes much differences when viewing Astro on LCD TVs?

2. does 100khz LCD really matters? will non-100khz LCD TVs lags when comes to watching fast-action scenes in movies and sports?

*
bro,

LCD tv always has a brighter screen than a plasma tv. imagine that you off the fluorescent light above the LCD tv, the LCD tv is getting EVEN brighter screen. so, will u feel comfortable on your eyes for watching 2 hours DVD? hmm.gif

for me, as long as the panel + processor can display/produce good PQ, the fancy frame is not really a matter.

ok, 2 scenario. 1 has a fancy frame but the PQ is somewhat ok and another 1 has a normal frame whereby the PQ is excellent. which one will you go for?

panny PV80 also has a glossy frame, why would you say dull-looking? were you looking at PV8 series? rclxub.gif

and another matter, did you ask the salesperson to show you what TV settings are? both at manufacturing setting or after adjusted?

non-100Hz LCD tv ie A550 is lagging when playing PS3 winning eleven or watching EPL even though it is a full HD LCD tv.

from my experiment, S-video cable is to increase the brightness instead of the blurrish images.

I also faced the same problem when all the salesman try to get me to buy Sony or Samsung instead of Panasonic. They just don't seem to be interested in selling Panasonic and it just make me more confused.  rclxub.gif  I sticked to Panasonic after all because my eyes feel most comfortable with it.

Now I am just waiting for my TV to arrive. Hopefully sooooooooooooon !!!! thumbup.gif

people, panasonic products got no margin. in another words, their commission is low if customers are about to choose panasonic plasma tv or LCD tv.

so, the commission-based salespeople normally push the product with higher commission margin, they want to cari makan nia..
