Aiyoh what is this my friend my friend nonsense?
Does Honda manafacture lubricants in the first place or not? And all the other oils are BS? Ask your friend keep his honda this honda that to himself la please.
CPS uses oil pressure to activate the cam changes, stick to original specs unless you want a CPS that doesn't activate then claim that its faster than all other cars.
HONDA'S performance lube is labeled "Idemitsu" if i have not mistaken and is NOT available here... btw... if you can afford it... dont buy a CPS.. get a NSX
The CPS is a fun, economical and consumer friendly car(also can be used for family use)... try a DC ....
WHATS IT WITH all the people asking what lube will fit my car best .....bla bla bla..........
All motor oils are actually about the same!!! unless some chap rebottles the crap oil behind some garage and sells it again lol
The most important is still the weight of the lube. For example, a VTEC engine needs very thin oils cause their engines have to take crazy bashing... revving up to high RPM, heat, and such...
You go too thick with your engine oil and you might not even get the engines lubricated. In the case of the CPS... we just go for normal engine oil... in fact, mineral will even do cause the engine doesn't run extremely hot anyway. However, run too hot like the performance VTECs, and the oil starts decomposing....
On the other hand, all those additives in some of the more expensive oils (or multiweight oils) are NOT lubricant, and they may actually burn way before the oil does.
See the difference with good oil bad oil... for this car, it is not worth saving the difference or spending for the difference....
Might as well put a not so expensive nominal oil ... irrespective of that brand... and change it every 5000KMs instead of full synthethic and go up to 10000kms lol.... oil filters may state they last till 10,000 kms... but they dont really stay effective at that milage if you get what i mean
JUST my lima sen.... dont take this the wrong way... but i think spending a lot for lube for the CPS is not really worth it... just something nominal, something that everyone will use =) it's not a turbo or comparatively a VTEC car =)
Even it says HONDA brand, it just a repackage of normal engine oil. It just they buy in drums and repack it to get cheaper price.
Just use a normal engine oil will do (whether mineral, semi or fully synthetic) as long as it complies with the viscocity requirement and change it on time.
