that's what make me wondering... to go up to 10k interval usually depends on the fully synthetics oil not the engine. can it be also depends on the engine? 'Grandfather' sphiroth..    hehe... let us call icare to ask them about it. if we all ask and tell them about the matter maybe they could give concrete affirmative on this matter. shall we?

got back from pasir gudang yesterday... saw a cps user on saturday nite, direction from pasir gudang, midnite blue JKT ****...

finally manage to test full tank FC, 300km highway, 200km trafic infested city drive, rm80=500km... not bad ehh...

so everybody wondering bout da 10k service interval... even for full syn, its better to change it at 8k... another thing i doubt the oil filter can last until 10k... before this im using shell semi syn, i use it for 5k before changing it...

btw... when i went for my 1st service, i ask wanna use mineral oil... but they say cps cannot use mineral, must use at least semi syn... is this true or just bull...

sure not only can use semi syn?? or the SC ppl wanna kong u?   hehe cos mayb they though tat "performance engine + last longer millage" should use semi syn??

but still we have got da answer for da 10k service period... isit good enuf to make sure the engine can last long... wanna stick to 5k interval with semi syn(going to use shell) + oil filter change... at da same time keep da warranty for the engine valid... 5 years service at Proton SC...   

Correct, challenge the SC to give you a written document stating use of other oil except for the one recommended by SC will void your warranty.

The user manual(as a legal binding document) only states the min. oil grade and viscocity needed, not the brand and type of oil.

You could easily challenge them in consumer tribunal, only RM5 to log in your case, fast / cheap and quite efficient.

Anyone know any good service dealers ? The one where you can actually talk to the mech. and see him repair.

Am feed up with the big centers, you tell them your problem, they say no problem ..

CPS engine can finish 1 big bottle or engine oil?? cos my previous civic always got left over.. after few times accumulate.. is a new bottle and can b use another time and is free haha..

which engine oil is recomanded?? other than mobil-1 and shell semi syn?

Ya, log in your complaint thru I-care and then send for servicing, "cucuk" thru I-care again if problem not resolve, build up a case with them as each call to I-care is documented and recorded.

That quite good FC already, man they should have introduced CPS a long time ago. Btw check out the Gen2 CPS review on May issue of Autocar ASEAN, they have 4 stars out of 5, which is pretty good rating with praises on the long waited CPS engine which improves the car tremendously and the attractive interior!

Finally found something with my Waja CPS that I could really learn to like..I have just travelled to Penang and you guys wouldn't believe the FC I recorded..I filled the tank up before my journey and when I reached Penang I needed just RM37.36 or 19.46 litres of fuel before the auto cut-off kicked in. The distance traveled? 360km!!

To be honest it was hard work achieving this level of FC with a constant speed of 80-90km/h and steady concentration and anticipation of highway traffic to prevent unnecessary braking and acceleration. But still to get 0.103cents/km is no mean feat! My previous Iswara, when subjected to the same driving style could only yield 0.118cents/km. My salute to the CPS engine in this department.

A word of advice to you guys on the remote key. I dropped and broke mine a couple of days after taking the car. I fixed it back and discovered that I couldn't start the engine with the key anymore! The SC guy told me that there is a transponder chip in each key and it has to be programmed before it can be used. In my case I didn't put the chip back, hence rendering the key useless. I have to ask them to put in a new chip at a cost of RM70.

One question here...With this chip in the key does it mean that car thieves would find it harder to do their thing since not just any similar key could start the engine? Does anyone know??

Even Campro i manage to get rm0.12/KM at 110km/h..But foot must be very light..

anyone know how far this chip can be detect from the key hole? been thinking of this past few days: we take out the chip and put it in our pocket or wallet. so only us with that key can start the engine (exclude case of hotwired). cool huh? going to try this asap if i get a screwdriver. but wonder the alarm or keyless remote can be use if we take out that chip. i think it should work since that chip required to start the engine, unless it need battery to operate.
now im using shell (ferrari purpose, but last time no stock ), but after this going to try esso since few people claims esso 'jimat'. i found out from my previous trial that shell is superior than petronas in terms of FC, but i believe it depends on engine and driver itself, donno true or not.

can this Waja CPS headlight fit into old Waja?? Coz I really love the HID light, plus it's not illegal bah

y ur rpm so high?? mine on 110 is only on 3k rpm wo >.<  120 is 3.2k rpm

Wow, you seem to know so much about cars and stuff!! Thanks for the advice but I lost the transponder chip and had to get them to put in a new one. By the way I remember you saying that you managed to hit 200km/h in one of your earlier posts but I could only get my car up to 190km/h on a 3km level stretch of highway. Was your speed achieved on level road? The speed increased reasonably quick till I hit 190km/h, then it sort of flatlined and wouldn't go any higher. Maybe with a longer stretch I could hit 200km/h??

Anyway I will test the top speed again and this time I will try to use the Elite stretch from USJ to KLIA. Hopefully can get a better reading!! Ha Ha..

from ur pix, gen2 cps also have the same air as waja cps...

event the engine layout is the same for gen2 cps and waja cps... heck the snorkel is also the same... need to use screwdrive to open the air box kan??
