1) How to apply to the Matriculation Programme?

The application form can be obtained through schools. Payment of RM 10.00 can be made to Bank Simpanan National (BSN) for manual application, and RM 6.00 for Online application.

2) How much is the registration fees for the Matriculation Programme for 2007/2008 session?

The registration fees for 2007/2008 session are RM 250.00 for Science Stream and RM 242.00 for Accounting Stream (one year programme). The registration fees for first year in the two years matriculation programme (science stream only) is RM 190.00.

3) When is the closing date for application to the Matriculation Programme?

The closing date is in October. Closing date for this year will be on the 10th of October 2007. The closing date for last year was on the 20th of October 2006.

4) How is the selection process is carried out?

The selection is base on the SPM results of those who applied and it will be ranked according to meritocracy.

5) Will there to be any penalty for quiting the programme ?

Students who quit the program will be penalised for breach of contract EXCEPT those who :

a) received offer from Teacher Education Division (local and abroad programme)

b) received sponsorship from government agencies or any certified agencies for

studies abroad.

c) received offer from 'Asasi Sains' UM

d) received offer from 'Asasi Sains Pertanian' UPM

e) received offer from 'Asasi Undang-Undang' UiTM - KPM

f) received offer for Pre-Degree Medical and Pharmacy UiTM

g) received offer for Medical Matriculation and Pharmacy UIA

h) received offer for Medical,Pharmacy and Dentistry Tamhidi from USIM

i) Health problem with certified report from Government Medical Officer

6) Where is the Matriculation Programme conducted?

Matriculation Programme is conducted in nine matriculation colleges under the Ministry of Education Malaysia and two MARA colleges namely:

Malacca Matriculation College

Negeri Sembilan Matriculation College

Penang Matriculation College

Perlis Matriculation College

Labuan Matriculation College

Johore Matriculation College

Perak Matriculation College

Kedah Matriculation College

Pahang Matriculation College

Kuala Nerang MARA College - M003 only

Kulim MARA College - M001 only

7) Is there any possibility for me to change Matriculation College to anywhere from the one that was offered to me?

Students will be given 3 choices of college in order of preference when filling the application form. However placement is make according to logistics and administration. Candidates are not allowed to change colleges.

8) Where can I continue my studies after graduating from Matriculation Programme?

Students can continue their study at any institution of higher learning, local or abroad base on their CGPA.

9) When will the results of succesful candidate to the Matriculation Programme announced?

Normally the results will be announced one month after the SPM result is released.

10) When is the registration date at Matriculation Colleges?

Normally the registration date is in the middle of May. For 2007/2008 session the registration date will be on the 14th of May 2007.

11) When will the Matriculation Programme Form will be distributed to schools?

The forms will be distributed to schools beginning early of August 2006 until the closing date of application on 10 October 2007.

12) Can students who did not take Additional Mathematics in SPM apply for accounting course (M003)?

It is compulsory for students to take Additional Mathematics in SPM in order to apply for Accounting Stream

13) Why do students fail in the application eventhough they obtained good SPM results?

This is because the subjects that the student obtrain good results in are not those taken into account for the Matriculation Programme. Please refer to minimum requirements of the programmme in the Matriculation Programme Book.

14) How is the process of appeal carried out for the Matriculation Programme?

Students can fill in the appeal form which is available at the Matriculation Division or send a letter of appeal. All appeals should be attached with a certified copy of the SPM result.

15) How will I know the result of my appeal?

You can contact the Matriculation Division directly by phone or help line which is given in the Website (http://www.moe.gov.my/bmkpm). Only successful students will be notified.
