Urgent!! HELP!! icon_question.gif
My K850i can't startup after i plug in the data cable to my friend's pc to transfer some files. when i on the phone, the keypad light and the camera cover blue light just stay there.. LCD dun have anything, and the phone is just freeze there.. so i try to reflash it by using the SEUS, it can detect my phone in flash mode, but when it show the percentage to transfer the firmware into my phone, it keep freeze at the 0%... after few min, got error saying that "error to update phone, please try again." i've tried many times, but looks no help.
So anyone do face this kind of prob b4? my firmware is the latest 1: R1EA037 if not mistaken, coz when i try to update tru the SEUS, it said my phone already the latest firmware.

so any taiko do knwo how to solve??? icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif  please help...
( i suspect will it infected by virus? my friend pc didn't install any antivirus, n his pc is very messy 1... rclxub.gif )

Is that the BROD (Blue Ring of Death)? Many people in a few forums claimed that their phones have been like that due to some error in firmware and unable to startup their phone, patch and etc, if possible would recommend u to bring it back to the shop you have bought it, most likely they'll replace you with a new one, or you can reflash it yourself, though it's not free for now, like kulan something and davincci.

I'm not sure if those 3rd party firmware will be the same as here, where here got BM, Chinese language within. Not a problem if you don't use those languages.
Anyway, I hope it works out for you, otherwise best to have it solved at your AP service center. They should be prepared for any eventuality under warranty. I'm really sick to hear for SE flagship K series model, its so prone to problems. I've already disliked its keypad UI within first few days. Now, even HALF the price also I won't buy. SE really need to be cursed this time round!. Sorry folks if I'm a spoilsport, but this is ONE BAD model from SE!.

The newest firmware, which is Raxxxx037 is confirmed to be safe from BROD. The hardware doesn't have much problem as i am sure that SE won't release such a high end hp with low-end useless hardwares. It's all bout the firmware to fully release the potential of the phone. Regarding the design and how the phone is designed, that's personal view and opinion on it ba =P

In order to fully get over BROD from firmware RAxxx037, u will have to reflash the whole phone, as SEUS only updates ur phone with minor parts and leaves the rest unchanged, it is already said in forums that a total reflash (not update), will totally solve the BROD problem.

to totally get away from BROD, a TOTAL REFLASH is needed for the phone to ver. 037 instead of just updating it.

It's a flash sync problem which prevails in the older firmware problem, or probably just a camera setting problem ba.

As mentioned before, only a total reflash ( not only update through SEUS ) can solve the BROD problem in ver. 037

www.kulankendi.com

Till now there isn't still a free flashing program (pleaseeeeeeeeeee correct me), but kulankendi costs the least, with like 8 euro, which is about RM40 i guess, but it's worth the update for me, cause it prevents any BROD bug and way faster media functions.

Thanks a lot for the more professional description on the phone cams, really learned a lot. Besides the lens and firmware, i think it comes down to the skill and use of different settings inside the phone to manage a good picture in either Carl-Zeiss or Cybershot. But to say, from an experience as both users, the noise level for Nokia at night is really bad, with the bluish effects on N73 which i was using, nt sure bout k850i though, still experiencing it through to see.

WE NEED DRIVER MODS !!!!!!!!!!

Yep, the lastest firmware I am talking about is R1EA031 download using SE update utility.
Quite true I guess. That is why I-Mobile 902 and 902sh can take such good pics. Both uses CCD sensors and not CMOS.

I don't really think the power consumption is alot more for CCD compared to CMOS. My former I Mobile 902 lasted quite sometime even with heavy picture taking. As for price, I Mobile sets were going for 700+ for a brand new one, that one CCD sensor, even if it was more expensive, it wouldn't have doubled the cost of production. Furthermore, CMOS sensors are used in many scanners and other high tech equipment and produce good results. So I think it is more of an excuse given by manufacturer to justify the components used in their products.  If SE phone cams were as good as their normal digicams, then consumers wouldn't buy the digicams as most people don't need the extra megapixels. Manufacturers would rather have people get a SE phone, be happy with the Cybershot brand and hopefully get a Cybershot digicam, double business.
*
They can, but they wouldn't waste the technology inside handphones, which spoils more easily compared to a digicam, spoil the handphone, and there goes the digicam inside too >< Plus the market selling scheme...

Yes, it is a really worth it 5mp phone to get at the moment, compared to it's first launching prices. Camera-wise it's fine for normal daily users that doesn't pick much on it, living with it will eventually teach you the settings itself. On top of that, you're having a really stylish phone which offers performance and the cool-factor at the same time.

Sorry to butt in in the camera chat guys, but my phone has the tendency to restart itself (without password inquiry), and change the theme back to crystal, as it has already 2 times today. I did a total reflash via kk, and a master reset including everything. Is this the problem of my theme? Btw, my reflash happened twice when i was inside my media player. Please and thank you in advance for answering my questions ><

Give things a new try ba, like from your old comfortable jersey to new jeans and t-shirts. Actually they are all categorized as clothes, just as nokia and se are as phones ya, as long as you're happy and comfortable with it, the brand doesn't matter much ya.

Sorry to bother here, but just to ask, does anyone have clues in flashing ur k850i with w910i parts like the one showed in the youtube video below?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pq2KzmA_Ed0&feature=related

Sorry i really dunno how to upload the video directly. Is there any risk in bricking ur phone with those mods?
