well ~ after seeing all the post from the beginning untill the end , at first SUZUKI SWIFT was a good car but then some small amount of people claiming tht the FC was not good enough .

to make a reply of that , i got a SWIFT (silver color) normal 1.5 brought just 1 year ++ only  ( august 2008 )
so far i just follow the SA to Service the car every 10K milage ( normally i will sent for service around 9.5K )

and now at first 10K the FC was around 0.17cent per KM ( petrol price was RM1.92)

and now if you were keep on driving in the townand most of the time maintaine the speed of between 80-110  then the FC will be as low as 0.15cent (petrol price RM1.80) , sometime even can get 0.14Cent Per KM
so far this car was never give me any problem , Power wise ... is perfect for normal driving in the city where you does not need to full push the "oil" to over cut a car because this car was design to for FC used and if you really need the car to goes overtake in a short distence , this car will require more FC to overtake in fonr tof the car , but if you were driving all the way , just driving further back a distence then push abit little deeper the "oil"  (normally will be 0.5CM deep )then the car will have abit of "speed" so in later time , you will feel abit of "booster" then u can easyli overcut the car which is in front of you .

this what i can say about the SWIFT , overall FC is consider as good as MYVI

untill now i never even run beyound 3K RPM cause for me i drive quite slow and i don't like to drive with "bumper-to-bumper " style , while i like to drive "smoothies " style , because the SUZUKI SWIFT are means for "smooth"

untill now i still wonder why some of the drivers like you all did run up to 175KM/h ??  are this is sure it can run that fast ?
cause i remember when i bring my Car back to 1st service , the technical people say that it can easily goes up to 170KM/H .. and i cannot believe this .

so far i know that if youwere driving with "D" gear , 2K RPM can run up to 80KM/H    ,  while 3K RPM can go up to 120KM/H  .

then i never run beyound 3K RPM , so i dun know what is the speed of 4K , 5K , 6K RPM
can some1 advise on this .
*
u know what, i try to get my car as fuel economical as possible by being toooo gentle with the throttle, which i realise this takes more fuel.
so i tried different ways, get the car speed to cruising speed as soon as i could and cruise which it works to get more milage!!

once i tried to be very gentle, Rm 60 ( Rm1.80 ) i could get about 365km, with 2nd method which is to get as soon as possible to cruise speed, i manage to get above 380km ( most of the time)

You said u dont go beyond 3k RPM , because i think in down driving to step between 2300-3000 RPM , makan more minyak. hehe.. So i try to go above 3K RPM ( when when the power comes ) and cruise. save more fuel..

So far i've only pushed my car to 160kmh, dint go more than that coz was when having emergency tthat time. I dint realise it was so fast as i though i was only at 120-130. But this car really can go fast.

but then this still depend on individual about what they prefer. im just saying what i thought.

A smart driver will always never let it's car not be locked right (you can choose to lock it with the remote / keyless thingy)? if you are just using the the function of "far enough from" the car then i think you are just asking for trouble.
*
yeah u are right. but it still depend on people on what they like. to me , i just dont really like this system.

luv my car...

average FC = rm70 petrol 350km-400km (town drive most of the time)

handling = better den alot of other cars in 70k price range (abit floaty wit ori rims n shocks) in 70k price range for new car , u tell me wat car is not floaty on high speed?
*
FC 70 bucks 350 to 400 only? I manage Rm60 most of the time at lease 380km. Used to have tired heavy leg someitme on the paddle but even if i heavy all the time also cant be rm 70 for 350. If Rm70 for me at lease can get 550km.

boss, i wonder hw u get 550km for rm70 petrol? is around 13 cent per km???
*
I dont know how i get average of 420km now with 60 bucks of shell petrol. Just normal drive. Lighter foot can bring me 450km.

My monthly average is 13.5cents to 14 cents per km.

Rm70 at lease 550km with some highway cruising 105-110kmh . Im sure u can get that. Else, check your car type pressure make sure its up to standard.

for me , to get the meter reading of 12km/L Avg is no problem (mix city+Hwy)..  that's like RM0.15 per KM..

for constant cruising at 80-90km it could sustain 20km/L.. if really feather footed and want to save fuel..
*
Its really really hard to get 20km/l must be super super gentle. haha.. normally i could only manage around 20km/l just a while then it started dropping and average out about 17-18km/l only. Getting 20km/l for long period of time its a big achievment imo. haha

Hi ppl, do u think it's worth paying another 6 k for the premier range with the extra of bodykit, v kool and leather seat? Haven't seen a real swift premier..
*
There is many premium around as far as i saw. But i dont think its worth that much though.

Leather seat could get for Rm 2100
Vkool probably u could get other brand. Some dealer offer 3M right?
Body kit , i have ask around can get for rm2k i think.

ridox,

My car's fuel consumption is pretty bad, the display read 8.8 km/l no matter how light I press the pedal. More like RM 50 for about 200-250 km. Mileage is about 5.5k and city driving mostly and up and down hill. What's yours?
*
Most of the time did you carry any passenger? If u carry passenger and up down hill most of the time i think 8.8km/l should be ok kua??

Btw, have anyone try setting the fuel consumption meter? there is 3 different setting. 1 is km/l , another is liter per 100km and 1 more i forgot. I dont know how to change it but sometimes i tried reseting the meter , the option came out. but i press press press nothing happen.

Yup. No need worry about FC if u service your car regularly.

Recently i change petrol from Ron 95 to Ron 97, give more power and responsive and better FC.

98% highway with very light foot. 40 Litres i manage 823km. About 20km/L
Was surprise with the result. But i had pump tyre hard about 36 Psi and carrying nobody with me. Cruise about 95-110kmh on highway.

yea,i feel this car eats fuel.even if i drive slow.

anyway, anyone had trouble with the alignment ?if i don't hold the steering it will move to the left.already service it,still the same but a bit better.
*
Yes! I have this problem since the day i got the car. I have done many many times of allighment but still the same. The SC blames the road slanting to the left but i tried on other car, no problem.

Better watch out for your tires.. IT kept eating the side of the tire.. My tire manage oni 44000 km and need to change because of the side of tire.. Middle still very nice. Too bad i had to change new tire. Now new tire only 2500 km done, can see little bit of the side eating up already..

The SC took my car to their allighment machine to check and say no problem.

First they blame the steering rack. IT has been claimed once. ( problem come back again gonna claim again)

Second , blame my old tyre which worn off at the side. ( which i have changed now and still same)

Third , blame the road.

I dont know is it important for you to check your tyres, but just take care it if you wanna keep in good shape. Probably switch from front to back , left to right more often to even the shape.

So far ive done 55000 km.. So far so good. Other than the dashboard plastic sound which my SA asked me to give up on fixing it! OMG! I cant take those plastic sound any more. Any one of you guys manage to solve the problem for at least 6 months? SA oni manage to cure mine for 2 days.

Other problem is the steering rack . Change 2 already still got the knocking sound.

And allighment problem. Always eat to the left . SA blame the road and check using the alighment machine claimes normal...

Other than those, FC seems very good. On Ron95 , manage average of 560KM ( 60% highway 40% city) . Heavy foot from Penang to Subang manage 14km/L average speed 150kmh ( wanted to keep at 140kmh but the car seems to push further itself. )

Does anyone else have this alignment problem and the knocking sound prob? is it a common swift problem?

I talked to my SC, they said so far im the only one who has the alighment problem. Knocking sound caused by the steering rack is common for once. After its being replace it shud be ok. But mine is already the 3rd steering rack.
