well, as in the article i just wrote - before you consider going to PC Fair, do consider the amount of hassle, the cost of travel / parking and so on so forth.

you are definitely right about the traveling cost to PC fair nowadays. The prices of the items offered in PC fair are not really attractive and not worth the time and effort spent.

Better shop comfortably in Lowyat Plaza or better still, here in LYN trade zones which often offer much better pricing

my experience from buying a whole PC from PC Fair back in 2001

go to A One Plus booth, talked to the seller, and could not get the PC on that day itself, have to pay deposit and collect from Klang branch a week later

a week later called the shop, the seller said there were some hardware complications, have to wait for few days more

ok, so finally got my PC few days later, was happy using it until it spoiled on me on the 13th month, RAM died, and no longer under warranty. it was ok, i could juz buy the RAM to replace the faulty 1. but the repair shop where i sent to said they do not carry RD RAM, and advised me to get from the shop where i purchased the PC from. but when i told them i got from A One Plus (Klang branch), they told me it closed shop edy doh.gif

that time already kinda loss and did not know what to do, coz maybe not only the RAM spoiled, the problem could be from the processor or mainboard, which were no longer in production (socket 423 Pentium 4 doh.gif). so juz bought new processor, mainboard and ram (AMD platform)

never, ever, buy from PC Fair. i kinda suspect there are some flaws with some of the products. the speakers that i bought from PC Fair in August 2006 spoiled within a week too

When buy from PC fair also must see which booth and which company you are buying from. I also have bad experience buying graphics card from PC Fair.
Cos that time student so always look for cheapest deal. Forgot to see which company it was from. After buy and bring home, the card can't work properly and to claim warranty need to go all the way to klang and i was staying at wangsa maju at the time with no car. In the end i just end up buying another card instead.

not sure whether u got ur pc cuz this post is 2 days ago for me
pc fair they give freebies? i doubt for pc fair nowadays..
just went to pc fair on last sat, found nothing special, and price, same vs lyp except they got hot chicks promoting their lcd, online game and stuff

what do i suggest is, even you found the whole system from lyp is more expensive than pc fair or even rm50 more expensive, i will still got for lyp cuz they do help u to build on the spot and you can bring it home with windows installed(not sure they still doing this) on the day itself, might need u to wait for 1 hour for the system to be ready...

i doubt pc fair will provide this service..and i also doubt pc fair price is lower than lyp

remember, klcc parking is not cheap and crowded for u to carry ur stuff
