btw,how can i know whether an absorber is gas type or oil type?
*
take out the spring, then press the shaft to the bottom and wait for it to rise:
1. if it fast, it is a gas charged
2. if it slow, it might be oil
OR
3. if it slow, the absorber is showing sign of ageing/disfunctional but normally can see oil patches around the absorber lah

Added on April 27, 2008, 1:40 ambut if u confirm it is gas and u pressed to the bottom and it juz wont rise back smoothly, chances are ur absorber kong

Means i need remove it to test eh? Cannot see it from the exterior?
*
from exterior, i think the only info u can get is to check for oil patches which u should have notice when u clean up your absorber smile.gif
another way is to check the model name engraved on the absorber housing and search google for the respective model then check for the spec

wahaha installed the abs d. just now go try mrr2 and now less floating d biggrin.gif
*
try to press on each side of the absorber and see if it will bounce back several times?
if yes, then ur absorber still kong but since it is lowered, u feel ur car handling better..
if no, then ur absorber still good and happy cornering brows.gif
