QUOTE(skylancer @ Apr 9 2008, 02:11 AM) mmm...maybe diz time it's Nokia that launch the 3G iPhone.hehehe...relax dude. btw, still no official statement from Apple on 3G iPhone. anyway, the hints are everywhere (AT&T statement on all phones under its contract will be 3G this year, T-Mobile doing super price cut to clear iPhone, Walt Mossberg's prediction, etc etc). but yeah, still no official launch whatsoever. Mossberg just kidding about that whole "3G iPhone in 60 days" thing so maybe this topic is kinda irrelevant eh? |

mmm...surprise!
3G Evidence! and this: iPhone 3G's baseband chip revealed? one thing i'm wondering though, what if the security check / baseband authentication is done entirely different on this baseband chip (S-GOLD3H)? if yes, izzit still unlockable using BootNeuter? i dunno, but considering that Apple has already playing nice on 1.1.3 > 1.1.4 upgrade, and even the 1.2 ones already get pwned, maybe this is the trick that Apple got hidden in their sleeve. QUOTE Infineon's less fancy name for the S-GOLD3H chip is the PMB8878, a 7.2Mbps HSDPA chip with all the video acceleration and media playback features iPhone users have come to expect. Advantages over its predecessor include higher resolution camera support (5 megapixels instead of 2), a 2x speed MMC / SD interface and DVB-H module support, but that doesn't necessarily mean any of those specs will end up in the ensuing iPhone 3G -- S-GOLD2 has plenty of features the current iPhone doesn't take advantage of. The processor speed, however, remains the same. I hope that Apple is smarter than that this time around. They should know the right thing to do. Please, don't bring down the hopes of everyone. After reading this, I have to say that my hopes are up. 5 megapixels. Come on Apple. I know you can! This is the opportunity to overtake every mobile company. QUOTE(llllll @ Apr 9 2008, 08:31 AM) btw that's not Colorware, it's a bit different. but yup it's still a repainting job i presume.haha...already noted bout that on the 1st page actually. but the actual rave here now on this thread is the 3G. that "new" design is already none of issue actually. |

Mossberg just claimed that the statement he made is not totally accurate but it's based on rumors only. What a lame guy

he could be covering up his words.. we will never know until The Man announces it.. guess we will just have to wait until the launch of the 2.0 software to find out... maybe he'll mention more about it...

More rumors on the 3G iPhone
QUOTE GPS On 3G iPhone Confirmed? A reader of MacNN has found what he believes to be evidence that Apple will be implementing GPS support in the upcoming next generation of the iPhone. Buried in the notes on Apple's Developer Site was mention of altitude measurements, which are impossible on the iPhone's current cellular-based location technology. The article, which can be found on the Apple Developer Connection website and is related to the "CLLocation Class Reference", doesn't mention much else besides the variable verticalAccuracy other than that it can be either positive or negative, is measured in meters, and is available in OS 2.0 or later. ~ iPhone Alley |
