GPS On 3G iPhone Confirmed?
A reader of MacNN has found what he believes to be evidence that Apple will be implementing GPS support in the upcoming next generation of the iPhone. Buried in the notes on Apple's Developer Site was mention of altitude measurements, which are impossible on the iPhone's current cellular-based location technology. The article, which can be found on the Apple Developer Connection website and is related to the "CLLocation Class Reference", doesn't mention much else besides the variable verticalAccuracy other than that it can be either positive or negative, is measured in meters, and is available in OS 2.0 or later.
