very creative, something like andy mckee's playing..
his harmonics are pretty limited but he makes good use of them. thumbs up for him |

i like. very simple. the way he uses harmonics rhythmically (sp?) is clever as it adds a whole new dimention to the song.
Added on April 6, 2008, 9:50 amanyways, anyone got any links or articles on a detailed study on harmonics? it seems to be a very powerful tool of extending the range especially when on an acoustic. i'm sure theres alot more to it than the 3,5,7 and 12th fret harmonics This post has been edited by echobrainproject: Apr 6 2008, 09:57 AM |

I love it!
It builds up.. The nice part is after the mid. If only he has like backup behind him.. Like some background stuff .. Maybe a violin? I don't know.. Or like a choir doing some background shit.. Sure very .. Er, what's that word u guys like to use... "Epic" ? LOL This post has been edited by skindred: Apr 6 2008, 04:05 PM |

QUOTE(skindred @ Apr 6 2008, 12:47 PM) I love it! I would have to agree it was nice, but not as farfetchedly impressive. I remember seeing a much better tap harmonic song. This one is very simple, but very melodic. Basically just using slap harmonics and percussions for both rhythm and fills. Nice composition nonetheless, despite what I said I probably will never be able to compose something like that. Sad really =/It builds up.. Those who don't like it probably didn't watch or bother listening till the end and end up judging already. The nice part is after the mid If only he has like backup behind him.. I don't think anyone here would make a rash comment after only hearing the beginning. We're not born yesterday, you know. QUOTE(engmeng @ Apr 6 2008, 02:39 PM) Yes we all know it's a solo, but it was said that it could be better with some accompaniment. |

QUOTE(echobrainproject @ Apr 6 2008, 02:43 AM) i like. very simple. the way he uses harmonics rhythmically (sp?) is clever as it adds a whole new dimention to the song. well there's the 4 as well. And a 9 which is the same as the 5 if i'm not mistaken (it's one of them that allows for alternate fingering). And then 12 and the 3,4,5 repeats itself at the other end (bridge end). But i think that's all the open string harmonics you're going to get. Even with fretted harmonics you're still basically shifting the whole thing aroud the fretboard. Also recently i saw something really cool by Michael Manring. Where he was using hipshot tuners on the headstock and the bridge to manipulate the tunings to create a pretty nice piece (title: the enormous room, or something like that |

QUOTE(engmeng @ Apr 6 2008, 01:38 AM) musician, please comment on this video Nice but volume needs to be a bit louder. Check this guy out, he is awesome No regrets. 100% http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W587ZSMUYNo A bit not very consistent with the timing. Other than that, it's ok but i am not a fan of such tapping. Check out his other videos, this one is better. |

based on his previous posts, i doubt its him.
bman, that clip you put is a modified version of justin king's larrivee. however he played it alot slower and he missed the coolest part of all (the two hand tapping section). the tabs were once posted here before and i've learnt it. recommended to learn, its really fun. i've got andy mckee's album. anyone has justin king or trace bundy's albums? |
