After reading this statement, I'm pretty sure I won't regret to choose a regular 60Hz LCD panel. Although those 100Hz are the best choices but unfortunately my dad not allow me to choose what I want. In addition, I heard that the LCD panel will not face the flicker problem so the 100Hz refresh rate only made the different within the CRT TV to solve the problems.
The 60hz versus 100Hz versus 120hz panel refresh rates would not make much of a difference to your naked eyes. IMO, for gaming and fast motion video, the other important thing is the response time:
look for one that has 6ms response or less so that you don't see the ghost or motion blur.
When look for full HD (1080p @ 1920x1080 resolution), make sure it can really also support
the full 1920x1080 using the PC VGA/DVI port. A lot of cheapo manufacturers claim Full HD but when connected
to PC, the best resolution it can support is only 1366x768 this is only 720p or upscale to 1080i.
Some manufacturers cheat on buyers this way by not revealing what the tru resolution is when connected to a PC.
If possible, go to their demo room with your laptop and PC-VGA-DVI connector and try it out, and change the resolution. If you can read the text with the highest supported resolution (1920x1080), that means it is a good display. Of course, your laptop graphics card must also be capable of displaying this mode.
For colour and contrast, look for the deepest black with highest contrast ratio: at least 10000:1.
