QUOTE(Sairenji @ Nov 7 2008, 02:03 PM) Um...my bad. I think it's VGA or DVI not RGB. I don't remember much about the connection name. Should be able to. How big is your monitor? HDTV? Edit: Oh wait...this is my graphic card model. But i'm kinda nub here so i don't really understand. It did says about having HDTV technology or something like that but doesn't state about having any HDMI output. I can't check my graphic card since i'm at my college right now. http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/VGA/Pr...?ProductID=2282 |

I like slim bezel design like Toshiba Regza 32RV530. Don't like those thick thick bezel, makes your TV looks big but the viewing area small.
Any other slim line bezel series? |

Technically, HDMI carries audio & video. Try wikipedia for HDMI. Usually this works for Blu-ray players.

QUOTE(danmooncake @ Nov 10 2008, 12:51 AM) The 60hz versus 100Hz versus 120hz panel refresh rates would not make much of a difference to your naked eyes. I'm thinking of connecting my laptop to 1080p or 720p HDTV (depends on my budget for the TV). I'm using Ati Radeon X700 on my HP laptop. How do I check the refresh rate for my graphics card? Well, since I won't be using my laptop for gaming, I guess the HDTV's refresh rate won't really be a matter when viewing documents, pictures, or internet on my laptop.IMO, for gaming and fast motion video, the other important thing is the response time: look for one that has 6ms response or less so that you don't see the ghost or motion blur. When look for full HD (1080p @ 1920x1080 resolution), make sure it can really also support the full 1920x1080 using the PC VGA/DVI port. A lot of cheapo manufacturers claim Full HD but when connected to PC, the best resolution it can support is only 1366x768 this is only 720p or upscale to 1080i. Some manufacturers cheat on buyers this way by not revealing what the tru resolution is when connected to a PC. If possible, go to their demo room with your laptop and PC-VGA-DVI connector and try it out, and change the resolution. If you can read the text with the highest supported resolution (1920x1080), that means it is a good display. Of course, your laptop graphics card must also be capable of displaying this mode. For colour and contrast, look for the deepest black with highest contrast ratio: at least 10000:1. The only thing that concerns me about the refresh rate & resolution is when connected to my Xbob 360, this is where I wanna have the full HD experience. Already got a good sound system. Just need a good 32" only. Planning to buy from U.S, because I'm currently studying here. Gonna graduate in Dec. I just gotta look a the power supply whether its 120v or 120-240v. Please advice. |
